Re: Help Needed Replacement cams

we are in the final stages of development with CatCams on some cams for the 1.6 16v. The custom chilled blanks have been made up now so its just a case of getting batches of the different cam profiles made up and working out pricing.. Should have them for sale very soon.. http://www.kamracing.co.uk/...

Re: Polo/Lupo GTI Manifold - Are they the same?

We would certainly look into it if there was enough interest. This would most likely have to be later on in the year when we have more funds for development..

Re: Polo/Lupo GTI Manifold - Are they the same?

I've just found this thread which is disappointing. The reason we do not know if it fits is because we never made it for the Polo. Its was designed only for the Lupo. As we do not fit exhaust systems we have no way of comparing or testing so you got an honest answer. Most likely it will not fit with...

New - Bilstein Coilovers for the Polo Mk8 (6R)

Bilstein have just launched coilover kits for the new Polo Mk8 6R. These Bilstein B14 coilovers feature mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers for optimum high speed and low speed damping. This ensures increased lane-holding and braking stability under all driving conditions. The Bilstein B14 coilov...

Re: panel filters

foam filters from my experience simply do not flow as well as cotton ones.

The seepage onto the filter issue relates to the mass production techniques of certain cotton filter manufacturers. cotton filters from BMC and Green do not suffer this as they are have better manufacturing processes.

Re: panel filters

foam filters aren't as good as cotton ones in my opinion. of the cotton ones the Green are the best as they have no seepage of rubber from the frame onto the cotton gauze maximising airflow. BMC are the next best cotton filter as even though they have very very small amounts of rubber on the cotton ...

Re: induction kits

The BMC CDA and DIA get the best gains from my experience from my 6N2 GTi. for the best gains it really needs a different (smoother) cold air feed as the corrugated alloy tube will create a little bit of turbulance. Once we started selling heavy duty PVC hosing I replaced the hosing attached to the ...

Re: lowering a standard 1.4?

for that kind of drop you would need shortened shocks such as the Bilstein B8's. Basically with OE length shocks (even if they are uprated) when you lower the car it reduces the damping on the shocks as it is already compressed. You will be more likely to hit the bump-stops and also do damage to the...

Re: BMC CDA fitting tips for a newbie????

you'll need a sharp blade like a stanley knife to cut down the 90 degree silicon hose slightly. If you don't the cda will get in the way of the bonnet shutting or at least thats what I found when doing mine. you can see how I put everything together in this pic: http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn...
