odd that, theres a pair sitting in my room for a set of F1 stylee mirrors. :D

god knows where they came from then...i remember an advert in a pvw or golf mag where they were sellin base plates for a tenner though

hell yeah...

i dont know about the derby but on the mk1 youve got to do a fair bit of cutting...worth it for the end result though :twisted:

    yeh, the dash board finally finally found where i was going wrong though. turns out they have 2 nuts holding it in place like the mk3's and 2's under the scutle panel. only when you look under the scuttle panel, loolk up slightly. the amount of times ive looked under there and ive been missing them ...

    dash removal

    can any one tell me how the dash comes out?
    ive loosened the 3 screws that hold it in place yet its like theres another screw at the back of the dash holding the top down.
    the front half lifts up but i cant get it to seperate from the back of the bulk head {330}

    as soon as i have the money and a spare set of front struts im going for a coilover conversion from rally designs. they weld on to your existing strut and you can choose spring weight and legnth depending on how low you want to go. a mates been running this set up on his 106 and has had no problems....

    to remove the dash on a mk1 (my mk1 anyhoo)
    i had to take out the ash tray and undoi the screw behind that.
    then undo the screw either side of the dash by the doors.

    mk2's and mk3's is when you start havin to faf aboot under the bonnet

    Is there a bolt I've missed 2 to be precise. ste's pretty much hit the nail on the head. but i would also advise heating the sealer up with a blow torch. not to much mind because it will ignite eventually (trust me :shock: ). other wise you'll risk bending the wing when you try and pull it. dont fo...
