i ave a 6n2. it all started because i swaped my tailgate over to a gti one with a spoiler and as i unpluged the boot from the central locking pump all the other locks dont seam to lock now either from the inside or out. i can hear the motor working to. Not sure about other cars but make sure you can get the same part no as yours if possible and also make sure the PIN allocation on the pump is the same. If yours is 8, a 12-pin pump won't work. My pump recently died and was a bit of pain trying to find a correct one. Try ebay or a breakers yard but ...

No mods. 2001 6N2 GTi. 9 years no claims, 3 points (due to come off next year), I pay £235 with £175 excess (I think) with esure.

I am 30 though.
