It'll need cut, if you don't want to cut it get a downpipe and sport cat
I'm not sure how that will help. The down pipe includes the sports cat and isn't that long so will still get fouled up on the rear beam.

Re: Multi function display what is your preference?

Actually on my Polo, when the coolant temperature gauge first reaches operating temperature (90°C) the oil temperature is usually still so low that it's not even shown in the MFD. It starts showing up as 50°C soon after. Mine is exactly the same. It's probably due to the "water cooled" exhaust mani...

Re: Cobra cat back exhaust non resonated

You won't get any lights on the dashboard unless you change/replace the cat.

If you have Facebook there is a few on there with the same exhaust so gives you an idea of sound increase.

Re: H7 LED vs Xenon in U-Tube Headlights

Nearly all LED retrofit lamps I've seen are terrible.

They either have a crap light output or last about a month.

I'd only recommend proper H7 lamps that the headlight was designed for.

Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

You clearly don't know much about fuses; there's more to them - all fuses - than first meets the eye, you know. And I do know what I'm talking about, as I come from a professional electronics background. You're at liberty to believe what on earth you like, though. Problem is I do know a lot about f...

Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

Dink, I've seen that link before but didn't - indeed couldn't - proceed beyond its first page, due to vortex's declaration that they'd set cookies and collect data on me. I try my best to limit that kind of thing, especially for sites that I'm rarely, if ever, intending to visit again. Years ago, v...

Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

You can buy pre made lengths of wire with the correct end from vw.

I bought just the pin from there. It cost 70p for one.

I haven't got access to the site where I got the part number but listed just the pins (both male and female) and pre made pig tails.

Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

I have used one of those piggy back add a fuse things in my fuse box and had no problem inserting it into the fuse holder.

I didn't try putting the fuse box lid on as it was just a temporary use testing my head unit amp.

You can get them off eBay but of questionable quality.

Re: 6C 1.8 gti dsG

The main issue is that it should never have been fitted to the 1.8tsi.

The box itself isn't too bad, it mainly other bits associated with the box that fails (clutch and the mechatronics unit).

You can get an uprated clutch but you won't get much change out of £900 before fitting.

Re: Smell after start

Every petrol car will smell like fuel when first starting it. That is normal.

The smoke is it 100% smoke or could it be steam?

Oh yeah I know what you mean.

It is just the friction plate you need but they are still like 250 on it's own :(

Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

I myself have been seriously thinking about getting and fitting a dashcam and, from what I've determined for myself, the easiest arrangement for picking up the required 12v for the power-supply converter is to use a wiring adapter of the kind shown in MikeAustin's picture and plugging it into fuse ...

Re: 6C GTI Manual Clutch

That will be the metal friction plate slipping on the flywheel.
If it was me I'd be changing it to the organic plate. It is more cost but it will be a hell of a lot better.
