niiiiice. would it be rude to ask how much she's been quoted?

i'm thinking of getting it done too now! were you charged for the quote? cause even if i don't end up getting it resprayed, they could tell better than i can how far the rust is advanced into the body.

sorted, should just be a straight swap over of the connections then.

yeah i know it's not that powerful, but it only cost me £50 off fleabay, and it's reasonably powerful as far as head units go haha. its just till i can get an amp!

yeah, it's a v-drive unit, and i have read a few times on t'internet that to get the full power out of it (cause i'm not using an external amp yet) i need to connect it to the battery. it's a 60w total rms. i'll wait till i've got the unit installed and have a listen before i start hooking it up to ...

got my v-drive alpine head unit on the way. before i get it, i need some advice - it needs hooking up to the battery for the extra power, but i don't know much more than that about connecting it up.

its going into a mk4 polo, and i need to know whether it needs to go through the fuse box (if so how ...

really? 5.5s will still fit my 4.5 tyres? will the tyres not get stretched?

my wheels need replacing as theyre rusting through! i have the standard 13", 4.5J steelies, but the tyres are good (my mum had new ones put on just before she gave it to me) so i just need some new standard wheels (steelies or alloys, whatever - i have to resist the temptation to get some deep dish ...

I reckon the only thing that might work (I've not tried it) is seam sealer as it can be over painted but you need to get all the rust out again first

whats seam sealer? where can i get it from, and is it easy to use?

i doubt youll have any luck with this but its worth a try - you can try www ...

I'm 17, passed my test 3 months ago, i'm with endsleigh as a named driver on my mums policy, fully comp, £320 a year. i do live in the arse end of nowhere so it might be a postcode thing, and my mum has a good few years no claims, but i'd have a look and see how much they quote you!

yeah, you're right. i think i'll run it till it dies/becomes too expensive to keep going. and i can practice on it without a huge fear of fecking up!

mm i'm in exactly the same position! last monday (1st october) same thing happened to me, without any warning whatsoever, in an area where there have never EVER been coppers before. i dunno whether i slowed down in time, i was doing around 40mph aswell.
