yeah I've got a k&n element in my mk2 and it makes absolutely no difference in a 1L.

I got it off ebay years ago and have probably done 50k miles with it without cleaning. from memory it was listed as being for a Nova.

still it cost me less than £15 new including postage so was cheaper than ...

if its a mk2 with round headlights then it doesnt have a cat. if its a mk3 with rectangular headlights it has a cat, and both cars were made on H reg plates

spend the money on your own car....

yeah thats what I've used the crane for, although they are sold for lifting electric wheelchairs into cars. mI've moved 4 engines with it now, but most of it just lifts out apart from a small frame thats bolted into the car, so you only use a tiny bit of boot space.

as far as I know all standard rear spoilers have a fine textured finish, so I guess its been painted at some time in the past....

well any good engineering stockist should be able to get one, but as its a special size it could easily be £30 to £50, but you could always screwcut the thread in a lathe or get one off ebay.

the other thing you can do is get a brake fitting and drill that out to say 8mm and turn the sender down ...

it depends how much power you've got in the first place. I've got a 1L mk2, thats completely stripped (including the passenger seat and carpets) and it makes a big difference to the acceloration, or should I say you dont need to put your foot down as much so you get better economy.

yeah its M10 x 1.0mm thread, the same size as brake fittings

no they clip into place. there are 6 plastic pins about an inch from the front edge of the spoiler.

if you are painting it be careful as the surface is badly rippled, so unless its smoothed properly it can look worse than the original black finish

no any car can enter the show and shine competition ...

a front wheel bearing is much more difficlt to do as you need to remove the front strutt, and you either need a bearing extractor or a hydraulic press to do it properly.

yeah you can fit the gt internals into a golf afm, thats what I've got in mine now, but once you know how to adjust a golf afm it works just as well as I've got a standard golf afm too.

Im sticking with the GT setup, but looking to get over 100bhp out of it using the standard cam and standard sized inlet and exhaust valves.
