Re: My 9n
Don't mean to sound out of step here.... ...but I hope you intend to declare some of those MODs to your Insurance Co. - you may find that some MODs may load your premium further being a 'new driver'. Might be worth waiting before you go storming into things like bling alloys / lowering / bodykit etc...

Didn't mean to impinge Forum etiquette
I've been looking for a decent of alloys for some time now and nothing has come up. Those that have, are way ways away

Re: Brand new Genuine polo wheels and tyres NEED SOLD
Swansea?! Feh...might as well be the other side of the world to me! By the time I factor in shipping it'd not be worth it
Interest withdrawn ... which is a pity really as they'd be ideal for what I'm after

Re: GT TDI Cambelt Change
IIRC VAG have issued new guidance across their range to suggest belt changes @ 4YRS/60K across the board in the last year or two. With belts it is far too much of a risk to as the resultant damage caused [to the engine] will be more to put right than the belt change itself. Usually it is the tension...

Re: Much loved 84 Polo Classic for sale
Sounds like a good'un - all depends on actual condition and drive of the car.
I would be seruously interested as I'm after a simple run around. Pity you're way (way) away as I would have liked to have spotted the car Might have been just what I am after!

Re: URGENT HELP ASAP PLEASE
Belt driven, 4 years or 60,000 miles - ie it should have been done and you should be thinking about having it done again, including the water pump, within the next 18 months. Like the man above says. Make sure you phone around for some quotes too so you know how much it is likely to cost so you kno...

Re: Engine Management & EPC Light
Mate, I think yours is a petrol? If so I don't think they have EGRs (as this is a diesel only)...so unlikely to be that on yours.

Re: Is the polo reliable
My Mother's car (2005/05 1.4 16V Auto) has been reliable enough. When we bought it, realised they were not quite built as bullet proof as one would expect so renewed the Warranty at the end of the 3 years. It has had a couple of niggles but all sorted under factory warranty or extended: * Leaking re...

Re: 1.4 BBZ/AUB Coolant
The filled for life bit is the first I have heard, and on this Forum. I will bow to the greater and better knowledge of contributors here...however, VW still recommend a coolant change every 4 years and is part of the service schedule (well was on my Mother's 9N). Consequently, this was replaced at ...

Re: New Key
Without knowing if yours has an alarm and what not is difficult to say. What is correct though is that you will need to get the key coded to the car as it is not cutting that is the issue. If you have an alarm built in then yes, generally Dealer only option which requires all keys to be present so t...

Euro Car Parts do OE stuff; I tend to buy from them. Remember Jurid are OE manufacturer for VW.

Re: Cost of replacing timing belt on a tdi
FWIW I think £275 is about right for a VW Main Dealer to quote for the job. Doubt it includes the water pump, but most (when pushed) will not charge any labour for fitting/removing it. My Mother's 9N had its belt/tensions/water pump changed early this year and we got it all done for £200 - but that ...
