If I could be re-assured enough that it will last 3 years+...then that alone would be enough for me fork out 1k on this...

Each time I have a gearbox rebuild or clutch replacement that noise goes...but eventualy it comes back again. Mind you...I have about as much luck with my car as a blind person playing poker.
