Funny you should ask that question. I've just helped a mate with the exact same thing. He had just fitted a new clutch and although he got the gearbox on enough for it to be able to hang under its own weight, he could not push it on far enough for it to be able to mate to the engine properly. As it ...

The exhaust system consists of a middle section, and a backbox. The middle section includes the catalytic converter (cat) and has a lambda sensor at the back for emissions calculations. Taken from here . The ex BF took the car to an exhaust place and had an entire SS exhaust made up from the ...

Not sure TBH. I need one cos this is my step daughters car, and her ex-boyfriend thought the car would go much much faster without it, so cut it out and binned it. So now it has no cat, no lambda sensor, no MOT. The guy's a pure genius, and actually works as a mechanic!!!

Need a new cat for a 2000 polo 16v gti (ARC) engine. Found some here but need to know how wide the exhaust is. I'm assuming its a 2" but does anyone know for sure. Cheers.

Grill surround

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket grill surround? and where did you get it from? does it fit etc. I got one from ECP but it doesn't fit all that well. It is missing the retaining clips along the bottom, and does not screw in place at the ends, just clips in, and is overall a poor fit and I have had ...

Halfords has a sample chart to take to the car, unfortunately I can't take the car to halfords, and their paint mixing system does not list pistaccio green. :(

catalytic convertor

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a CHEAP catalytic convertor for a 16v gti (ARC engine)?

(Just realised this is probably posted in the wrong section. Mods please feel free to move it)

Looks nice, but I'm really looking for a perfectly original one so I can fit fogs into it (plus I I quite like the look of the grills in the original) Nice find though.

Nice, nothing but good reviews for the cheap option :D that'll save me a bit of money to get it painted. Did anyone do their's themselves or did you get someone to paint it professionally? if so how much did it cost? It's a flat colour not a metallic.

ECP Front bumpers

Has anyone had any experience with 16v bumpers from Euro Car Parts. Their catalogue lists 2 different ones a genuine one (Part no 821440870) or a replacement part (part no 821440871) not sure what the quality of this is like as its £100 cheaper than the genuine one. Anybody bought one of these who ...

.... any colour considered, must be in good condition, preferably with grills. Preferably southwest / Bristol area, although can travel for the right part / price.

Thats what I thought, but I was at a breakers yesterday looking for one and they told me that the cross members were different but I can only find the one listed on ECP's website. Thanaks for the confirmation. :D
