Averaged 37mpg on my last tankful, and I thrape the nuts off the thing everywhere (the needle enjoys being in that red bit :wink: ).

A lot of my mates I take out in it ask if it's a diesel - a few because of the 3-cyl chatter, but a lot of em because they comment on how well it pulls low down ...

Really? I always assumed the 5-door version would be slightly longer. I realise the front doors are shorter on the 5-door, but I never realised it made that much of a difference (if you see what I mean).

Doesn't say whether it's 3-door or 5-door skirts. What's your Nelson?

You sure it wasn't a 1.9 TDi? If it was a sport spec, there's no visual differences between the 1.4 TDi and 1.9TDi.

0-60 in 1.9 is about 9secs; 1.4 is around 12secs IIRC.

No mention of brakes change on Polo's in the MY05 revisions list I've had a look at. Mentioned a few bits and bobs, like middle 3-point seatbelt, no more SDI badge, but yeah...no brakes stuff.

Yup yup - if there's any power increases going around, I want to know about it! Is this a similar thing to v4 revision of the R32 ECU software recently released to iron out flat spots, but in actual fact gives about an extra 10bhp?

Received an 'Information Update' at work yesterday on the Polo GT. Here's a few details:

3 door - £14,125 TBC
5 door - £14,625 TBC
0-60mph - 9.3secs
Top speed - 128mph
Combined MPG - 55.4
Noise - 70dB

Will have all the items of the sport as well as the 16" wheels, 6 speed box and 'individual GT ...

2800 in 7.5 months makes...373.3 miles per month!

Yeah, that's about right tim.

I do mostly town driving, which resulted in about 300 miles to the tank in my old 55bhp, and about the same in my current 65bhp.

The looks (of a tastefully modded one, that is)

The performance (ok, it's only a 1.2, but it still goes blummin' well for a 1.2!)

Ermm...I'm on about getting ESP on a 1.9 TDi Sport! Rain sensing wipers and auto-dimming mirror may seem decent value at £140, but in my experience the wipers are a bit random and the mirror thing is a bit unnecesarry perhaps.

Don't worry, should be placing an order for one in the next month. Currently trying to make a few decisions, namely colour and optional extras.

Torn between Reflex Silver and Diamond Black (would be my 3rd black one in a row).
