6LL 501 541 is the part number listed for the FR and Cuprs rear bushes
What I was trying to say is those ones that someone posted up from on ebay, which are listed as being Ibiza FR ones, are just the normal '6Q0' ones that are on the Polo anyway, so is no point in fitting them.

Thought I was getting a good price for a thorough service, but after checking the invoice for whats been done, i'm not so sure!!

It would probably cost you that for just an oil and filter change at some main dealers, so no I dont think you have been ripped off.

What you have to remember is that ...

What tools for cambelt change on 6N2 GTI (AVY engine)

Time has come to do the cambelt change on the Girlfriends 6N2 GTi, and want to know if I really need some specialist locking tools as Sealey seem to list a few different ones, and cant work out what ones are actually for what engines.

As far as the pins for locking the pulleys in place Sealey list ...

Right here goes...

The standard Polo GTi brakes are 256x25mm

The G60 ones are 280x22mm, but you can use the carriers off any car with 280x22mm brakes, even the 5-stud ones, so the list of donors is af follows...

Fuses are known to melt or blow when the air con is being used as well as the fans

That stritcty cant be right... cos as soon as you turn the aircon on the radiator fan should come on aswell to help draw air throught the aircon rad at the front!

So there is no actual way of having the aircon on ...

Yeah...

Thats the bit... its the rubber mount that attaches the top of the shock to the body.

There is normally a big bearing race underneath it, but not sure if they ditch that when fitting coilies or not.

There are usually two oil pressure switches...

And they are often wired in different ways, so one is a normally-open circuit, and the other is a normally-closed circuit.

The two switches are at two different pressures, and are used a different revs...

So for example the low pressure one is the ...

Its usually just cos they are covered in brake dust...

and because they are magnetic it just all sticks on there as lots of the stuff in brake pads is metallic.

They arent that expensive if you need to replace them, fronts are about £15, and rears are about £30

Ideally you want to take it out ...

im guessing the sensor is on the sump somewhere

On these the oil light will only come on due to low oil pressure...

Its not an oil level warning, as there is no oil level sender until you get to much newer vehicles.

Althought obviusly having a low oil level may give you low oil pressure!

There ...

You can get a locking fuel cap from VW, but it has to be made in germany as the lock needs to be assembled. And its not cheap either!

Surely thats only if you want it to match an existing key!

You just need to get a cap and key from one that didnt have central locking.

I even think the old Mk2 ...

Just start off with the obvious stuff first and make sure that nothing has some loose, such as the bolts that hold the bottom of the shock to the hub.

Other than that I would guess that either the nut at the top of the shock at the top mount has come loose, or the top mount itself is on its way out ...
