Re: AP's Go lower than Ta Technix?
Veedub9n, how much lower does the back go without the adjusters?
I'm on 17s now and could only do with losing 25mm now.

Re: coilovers fitted!
The suspension will settle a little. I have APs the backs don't really go low enough. Two options: take out the adjusters at the back or buy custom springs.
There's a guy on here that knows details of the custom springs, they could be from G Werks.

Re: AP's Go lower than Ta Technix?
Hi mate,
Here's my 9N on 7.5x16 on 195/45 with my APs all the way down at the back. Adjusters still in. Need the adjusters whipping out.

Re: Noisy Coilovers (AP's)
My APs (on a 9N TDI) don't have any of that. I think you may be a little lower than me (I'm now running 205/40 17s too, can't tell if they're 17s on yours). I've just had the top mounts, and the powerflex front bushes/cupra rear wishbone bushes done too. Drives lovely now. I've not had any noises at...

Re: Standard GT alloys
So an 8" rim is 0.5" wider so sticks out 0.25" inwards and outwards. ie. around 6mm. Going on the offsets that work for 7.5" I'd say et36 front (though you'd get away with up to et25 if you push it). The rears would work ok upto et25. As for tyres on an 8 you could go 205/40 easi...

Actually 5mm further in. Offsets are measured from the centre so it's 10mm/2.Jeff GTi wrote:10 mm further in than the standards

Re: Standard GT alloys
Depends on width of rim, not tyre.
I'm running 7.5x17 et32 Audi S3 rims with 205/40 Yokohama Parada Spec2.
On a 9N it need some space at the back. I have some 11mm spacer lined up to go on mine. The front is fine.
For 7.5 et30/et20 is a general rule of thumb.

Re: AP coilies
I love the APs on my 9n. Back needs adjusters taking out. It's that way to pass TUV apparently.
Shorter springs? Where from?
Handling also better for the cupra/powerflrx bushes on front. I hear good things about the whiteline arb too.

There should be a new sub forum for it yes.

Re: coilovers and droplinks
I have AP coilovers on my 9n tdi and I don't need different droplinks. I don't run super low but I'm wound down all the way at the back (with adjusters still in until next summer). Like this:
