Currently running but has a mis fire (coil pack I...

Re: 1.8T driveshafts

Ash, should have said car weight is 1045kg, car origionally ran upto the 210bhp class which is 1082kilos after a race with driver and fuel. At the moment with 180hp it could come down to 945kgs. But as we plan to get the power back up it will stay where it is for now. The origional engine was the N/...

Re: 1.8T driveshafts

good spot with the face lift, origionally a 2004 but the rules in our championship sort of went along the lines of you can only use engines upto year of your car, so with the facelift it brought it upto 2009 so released a few more engines to choose from, i looked at putting the same engine as my roa...

Re: 1.8T driveshafts

morning, coilovers have recently been changed from KW's to GAZ two way adjustable, and i must say i wasn't sure about GAZ, but they have really made a difference. In the VW Cup some serious money gets spent on suspension (in one camp it got to £23k!! on a golf). I dont even have that for a seasons r...

Re: 1.8T driveshafts

Kitt, this is exactly what I needed to know, it's an 02s box with 108mm flanges, not sure why this problem came up as we did run the car this low before, the only thing I can think of is the torque side of things, the old N/A engine was good but only at 6000rpm nothing down below and all very progre...

Re: 1.8T driveshafts

There's the problem, they do the golf but not the polo 1.8t, the golf shafts we have seem longer so hence trying to source Polo 1.8t shafts ;-)

Re: 1.8T driveshafts

the wiper arm is marked up: BONWRATH, the cage i think is a VWR job, cant see any markings and i have no details in the book for it. I saw the J and R site but they don't do the 1.8t shafts, they seem rather rare, trying to find the details on them then see if i can match them somewhere else. :?

Re: Update on the Race Polo

cheers for that, poor little thing has always looked the part, especially once i gave it the face lift, but sadly engine wise has never been the part, this year hopefully a good result awaits. By all means say hello if you get to a round, Hopefully less of this: http://i247.photobucket.com/alb...

Update on the Race Polo

Hi all, been a while so thought i'd drop a few pics on and let you know whats happened to the little Polo. After suffering a big bang and subequent fire at Silverstone in 2010, the spare engine went in. Still the same N/A 2.0ltr but with J.E Pistons instead of the horrible ones which where the cause...
