may be a good idea to have the head skimmed incase its warped
also youll need a new cambelt and i recommend changing the waterpump while the cambelts off.
if your not confident then have a garage repair it,if the cambelt dont go on correctly then you could cause serious damage the engine

6n engine problem
had this issue for a while now,and its doing my head in
basically when im driving and come off the accelerator the engine doesnt de-accelerate properly? it kind of holds every second as its coming down,like its still briefly getting fuel or something?it does it untill i get down untill around 2k ...

numberplate light just pops out using a flat screw driver
as for the tail light you should check the wiring,also may be a bad earth

yes the cables being replaced
and things arnt as bad as i thought as i looked at it today for the first time before i get started and it is only the long bolt holding the pedals thats damaged,pedal box itself is fine....
spoke to vw and they are £5.80 +vat RESULT :D

sounds fiddly but going to take my time with it so dont care if it takes a week tbh lol
im going to take the old one out and then see where im at with it,did you get a replacement from vw or the scrappers?
guess the only good thing to come of this is that i can replace my drivers ...

i would say release bearing
say this as ive had the bearing whine on different cars,on the polo when the clutch pedal was down,another car as the pedal came up,both times it was the bearing.
gearbox whine usually increases with speed,from what ive had previous anyway :o
try bringing the clutch ...

check that the new thermostat has located correctly
also check the condition of the thermo housing,there plastic,and the section holding the pin from thermo can break

that was without the top cap fitted lol just wanted to show how the nut sits underneath the cap
when i fully tighten the top cap down it hits the nut underneath leaving the gap
