As above, after clearin out me garage, found a 6n2 Gti engine cover, a haynes manual and an air intake box oddly. Let me know if anyone needs. Prefer pick up in St helens,

I'l just warn you that if youre thinkin of doin this yourself its a pain in the ar*e even on a ramp with good quality tools.

Your engine type will be quoted on the cambelt cover and will start with either ARC or AVY i think? I was told that the only difference between the two is the location of the sensors, Just did my clutch on saturday and used an Luk one, just rang the suplier and gave him my plate number and he sent t...

Thought i'd better see if anyones had this problem before. Removed the gearbox and clutch, which was an absolute pig of a job due to the starter motor being really unaccesable from both the bottom and the top, and two of the driveshaft bolts were threaded, and the fact that there just wasnt enough s...

Could someone please explain the difference between the 2 engine types. Just bought a new Luk clutch and im a bit worried that it aint goin to fit.

Sorted. Took it round to me local garage who said they would'nt be able to do it till Jan 8th and it would cost me £250+VAT :shock: . So managed to an Luk clutch kit for £80 and the use of a ramp on saturday. 8) Dont really know anythin about these clutchs, it might be ok, preferably wanted a sachs ...

Cheers, Will have to look at it in the mornin, at least i have an excuse not to go to work lol. I'm pretty sure that the whole thing needs replacing. Know any descent cheap ones out there?

Right, something has finally gone, for the last three months i've been having to regularly adjust my clutch because its appears to be dragging. 89000, seems to be ok, stiff change when its cold, really heavy oil in the box though.
