Re: Engine Management & EPC Light

The EGR on the AUB and BBZ engines (1.4 petrols) are circa £98 from eurocar parts.

Mines been playing up for sometime, and while removing and cleaning it helped or a short term fix it has soon started playing up again. Juddering while accelerating, stalling intermittently and idling roughly too. I ...

Re: 1.4 BBZ/AUB Coolant

Just to close this off they do indeed have a drain tap on the lower left of the rad when you remove the front bumper. 20 minute job all in :)

Thanks for the info 8)

Re: Is the polo reliable

Mines an absolute POS - only had it 6 months and for my first VW (had audi/seat in the past) it is truly rubbish. Bought into the hype of german reliability and my other marques were v v good but this is a dog. You have to pay top dollar compariable to other marques and yet riddled with basic and ...

Re: 1.4 BBZ/AUB Coolant

Yes its to replace it, and anyone that leaves coolant in for 60000 miles no matter who tells them is mad. Changed every 2 years for all and every one of my cars. For the sake of 30mins and £15 worth of coolant its not a big deal tbh - just dont want to mess around removing the bumper to find nothing ...

1.4 BBZ/AUB Coolant

I know the Golf Mk5 one fits, anyone know if any other ones fit too ??

Lost out on a couple of R32 ones off the bay and have found some other audi ones that look similar but not sure.

Re: Location of Crank Sensor on 1.4 16v 100bhp engine

lol got to love the complete confusion from the dealers ! lol - whats the world come to when haynes knows more

By definition it has to be connected to the crankshaft so has to be near or around the bottom of the engine.

Re: Location of Crank Sensor on 1.4 16v 100bhp engine

Cracnkshaft sensor is usually on the bottom side of the engine opposite to the gearbox so left hand side for us guys.

I'll have a poke around at the weekend and see if i can find it on my engine (same one)

How low for drop links

How low do you have to be going to warrant changing the droplinks on a 9n at the sametime ??

Re: Aircon problem

Mine is defo RHD

The part no. 11 is also on the wrong side (being on the drivers in my car) so i can only assume the picture has a couple of back to fronts on it  The actual location on the side wise (height and depth) is spot on though, so should give some indication on where to look 8)

I reckon the pipe has slipped down behind the bumper. Might be a bumper off job :(
