Thanks for the reply guys,

If I wiggle the brake pedal the light goes out. Dash light hasn't come on yet. No too fussed about it though. Selling the car on Friday.

Thanks again.

Help! Brake light problem

Can anyone help me please?

Had to slam the brake lights on on the way home today. Now the brake lights are on and won't go off. Is there any way I can fix this - have tried pulling the bulbs out and putting them back in to no joy.

How can I fix this? (have the battery disconnected at the mo to ...

Replacing headlight bulbs

Does anyone know how to get access to the headlights on the GTi? One of my sidelights has blown and I want to replace it. Also am trying to replace the main beam bulb with brighter xenon 'effect' bulbs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The best I have ever got was last week - 320 miles on Sainsburys ordinary unleaded. That was before the red light came on, and with the air con on all the time.

Doing a run from Stranraer to Elgin tomorrow, so am hopeful I could get 350 miles from full tank. Will report back after the weekend ...

Thanks guys,

the last owner replaced the BBS rims with the Kosei Snipers, would have prefered the BBS ones myself though.

First time posting pics, still trying to get the hand of it!

At least I know now that it's not just me then. Is it true that they have to take the whole dash out to replace the pedal box? Has anyone had any problems with the dash squeeking when they got the car back? I have to say that upto now the only squeek I ever hear in my car has been the clasp on my ...

VW Main dealers (small rant)

Hi all,

Took my GTi to my local main dealer at 9 this morning to have the recall done on the pedal box. Had it arranged for over two weeks. When I went back at 5 this evening to collect the car they told me that they didn't have the parts in stock and could I call back another time. What was the ...

Hand brake recall

Just got my car booked in today for the pedal recall. The girl at the service desk who booked the car in said there was also a recall for the hand brake which they would do at the same time. Anyone else heard of this one? What's wrong with the hand brake?

Have to agree with Josh. I don't notice any difference in fuel economy and only a tiny difference in performance when i use the climate, so I just keep it on all the time. Can't beat cruising around at 18c inside when it's 30c outside and everyone else is melting.

Tyre recommendations

Need to replace the two front tyres. At the minute i've got Michelin Exalto 2's all round and i don't know whether or not to go for the same or try something different. They're pricey- was quoted £70 +vat each. Any rocommendations?

Thanks

I notice no difference in fuel economy with the climatronic on or off. Acceleration is a bit slower though.

With climate control on the the display will show 'auto'. This means the climatronic will monitor the cabin temp and humidity and switch the air con on and off as needed, adjust where the ...
