I found out reecently the two switch blanks to the right of the steering wheel below the headlight switch can be used for electric windows. Someone was breaking a car...

The CO control is on the air flow meter, under the blue cap. The idle speed is controlled by a screw on the throttle body. I think http:\\www.rosstech.com can supply the software and the cable for reading the fault codes from this type of ECU.

a 1.3 4 speed is a waste of time. The 5-speed ones have the same 4 gears as the 4-speed and then an extra one. If I were you Id look elsewhere.

the 1.3 golf has the same engine as the 1.3 polo, making the 1.3 polo a fair bit quicker. The 1.0 mk2 isnt too bad. Its the mk3 youve got to watch out for! If you do alot of motorway driving, the 1.3 5-speed is the one to go for, it runs at alot less revs at motorway speeds (3300 for the polo,...

See if she knows what model it is, Theres only one that could be either a mk1 or a mk2 and that's a formel E. Otherwise mk1s are N, L, LS, CLS or GLS and mk2s are C, CL or GL

81 is the last year of mk1 production, you can get mk2s that are 81 as well, but most are mk1s

knackered cv joints tend to make more of a clicking noise when theyve had it - it does happen when turning/near full lock though.

there are several. One you can see at the bottom left of the pic where the anti roll bar goes through. there is one at the other end where the lower suspension arm bolts to the car. Id imagine it's one of them two.

that's a CV joint boot. You can get a replacement from GSF. its quite awkward to replace though, the CV joint needs to be removed from the wheel hub (which may require you to separate the anti roll bar/track control arm from the suspension strut) Then the CV joint needs to be separated from the driv...

Looks pretty tidy. The Lack of FM is quite a common occurrance on the polo. I've had two earlyish mk2s (a Y reg and a C reg) and neither had FM. And yet I'm sure FM's been around for years longer than the mk2! :?

You have to block off the two pipes coming out the bottom of the early tank, but otherwise itll work.
