nice job on the wheels - they do look good when polished up - not sure about Orange centres but with RX2's it's nice to be able to try these things

Re: Spacers??
Are there any handling benefits with using spacers? Wider track can't help - but in fitting spacers please be aware that you are moving the leverage point on the wheel bearings The reason manufacturers decide on a certain ET is to centre the load of the wheel on the wheel bearing centres - going ou...

Re: BC's 6N2 GTi (WIP Thread)
Youll be suited like The Transporter next Ian :D Unlikely - unless at a funeral and I've had my fill of that already this year The buzzing sound from gear shift area- does it stop when you hold the knob? Mine did this and i just WD-40'd all the gear stick linkages etc and its been dandy ever since....

Is that a lotus carlton? Yep it's a Lotus Carlton - well spotted - owned it 11 years now I was just going to put one of mine with a Evo X but wasnt sure if that would have counted :? Evo X - yeah I'd say whilst it might not be classified as a super car - it would qualify here and not much would com...

Re: BC's 6N2 GTi (WIP Thread)
Right fuel prices are getting daft so with a fair few jobs to do on the Gti I think I'm going to take it off the road for a while Lowering springs (need collection and fitting) RX2's need centres swapping from satin to gloss and a polish up as well as some sticky summer tyres Cam belt kit Passenger ...

Re: lowering springs question???
Spent a long time deciding on which way to go when lowering my 6N2, went with -40mm Weitec on standard shocks. Agree with bstardchild; improvement in ride height, useable over speed humps, generally OK on ride - some surfaces feel underdamped as you feel some bounce, minimised roll generally. Didn'...

Re: 6n2 gti Idling problem
This doesn't seem to matter what the weathers like but it’s driving me mad! I think the best thing to do is change the coil pack and ht leads and give the throttle body a good clean at the same time. I just had quick look at the coil pack, looks like 3 bolts and a cable connection. I take you have ...

Re: lowering springs question???
I always struggle with statements like that - not wanting to cause offence here just stating a viewpoint I ran 60/50 lowering on a MKIV for a couple of years on std shocks with no issues or failures - sure it wasn't perfect in terms of ride (to get that you need to get a matched set of dampers and ...
