Nigel's GTI - Speaker repairs...
Rain repellent is great. I hear there's much better than RainX out there so I'll have to look into that. I didn't clay it (which it probably could have used) because to be honest, I lose motivation easily when I'm doing so much on the car in one day. The weather has been great across the Irish sea f...

Looks like something to do with the spring on the clutch cable?

Re: Joe's 3rd Gti Progress Thread- Jumpy throttle?
Interested to see the results Joe. I've been running on 95 for ages now... I can't justify paying for BP Ultimate with petrol prices being so dear but that COULD be it? I'm kind of hoping it's a coilpack issue though. Seems easiest fixed.

Joe's 3rd Gti Progress Thread- Jumpy throttle?
I'm having the same problem Joe. Cleaned my throttle body a few days ago and it hasn't resolved the problem for me. It does seem to accelerate smoother (sometimes) but between 2 - 3k revs it'll kangaroo unless Ive applied full throttle... And even the slightest tap of the accelerator and the car lur...

Verity's Reflex Silver GTI
Hmm still not completely sold on the UP! but that'll maybe change in time. How long before someone squeezes a 1.8T into one?
Good job on the wheels too. It always feels good to get something sorted that's been a bit of a pain for a while.

Very informative thread and has been a pleasure to follow. Hope you're happy with the results and hopefully they'll help someone else out in the future.

Nigel's GTI - Speaker repairs...
Last night I removed the engine cover to clean the throttle body....... Guess what the sound was. Engine cover was a bit loose and vibrating (insert slightly embarrassed face). Cleaning the throttle body has smoothed out the running of the engine a little but it's still a bit jumpy sometimes. Liftin...

Nigel's GTI - Speaker repairs...
So maybe 1000 miles later and the noise hasn't got any worse. It's still there and no other symptoms. I think it's just something rattling or blowing. The exhaust system somewhere? Anyway, enough about that. I don't want to get hung up on all the niggles my car has or else I'll just get down about i...
