Which Polo GTi Do You Have?

Just wondered which colour / body GTi everyone has......Which is the most popular within the group etc...... And just to clarify it has been proved scientifically that Silver one's are allwaaaays faster

I'll start it off with a Silver 3-Door.

Cheers

Chip Repair

Mornin' All,

I'm gonna get chips-away to remove 2 or 3 stone chips i have on the front of the bonnet but before i did i just wondered if anyone knew roughly how much they charge? The chips are all around 2 mm across nothing massive etc.....

Hey there cyhliu, It's being done at Gilders Hillsboro'. I gave it a good go with the "how could i report it under warranty if i didn't know the boot even had a light & door open alarm as it had never worked" argument. So hopefully they will push it through under warranty. If not i jus...

I think most Halfords do black and silver plates......BUT............Wouldn't they be illegal on your car???? Doesn't the vehicle have to have been registered before something like 1973-ish??? I'm pretty sure thats the case.

Yep Josh thats what it is.......I keep meaning to check it actually works but never get round to it.

You have to have the radio in TP mode for it to work apparently.

I know what you mean but i was comparing the price today to prices on dealers forecourts etc.... a year ago when i was looking around for mine. In January 2003 almost all the 51 plate cars i saw on either the VW website or on dealers forecourts were around the £10500-£11000 price so what i meant w...

GTi Still Keeping Value

Just been to the local dealers today to book my car in and noticed they had a red Polo GTi in the forecourt. 51 reg and on at £9995. Looks like the ol' polo GTi is keeping it's value at the moment.   I'm sure i read somewhere (Maybe VW Driver mag), That the mk1 Golf GTi owners were ...

I went to the dealers today and the woman in charge of the servicing dept. said she wasn't sure whether i could have the work carried out under warrenty as it ran out a couple of months ago. When i mentioned that the only reason i had never reported it as faulty before was that i didn't even know i ...

An update to the above posting........................... I 've just put the boot door back together and it's all absolutely pristine inside, not a sign of water leaking so i think the rear hose must have leaked from in the main body-shell earlier this year. The only thing left is the sensor itself ...

Boot Door Sensor

Hi All, Does anybody know roughly how much i'll be looking at if i have to have the boot door sensor replaced? I only read the posts concerning the problem with the rear washer pipe leaking onto the sensor and boogering it up yesterday. Now this might sound daft but i've had the car 14 months and i ...

Silver Polo GTi In Sheffield.....Again

My better 'alf said she saw a silver GTi on Ecclesall Road In Sheffield today (Saturday 29th). She was working in a shop at the time so only glimpsed it but was pretty sure it had a private plate (J-Reg). I reckon this could be our favourite....Sir Josh of GTi......But is it yet another GTi in the S...

I had new front discs fitted and new pads all round on my GTi a couple of months ago. A few hours after i left the car with the VW dealer they called me to let me know the car would be delayed untill the next day because they hadn't realised that the Polo GTi front discs were unique to the Polo GTi....

Well i've just got 'em fitted and boy do they look gooooood. RHD Clutch and Brake pedals and a LHD Accellerator pedal. The LHD acc. pedal is only slightly larger than the existing pedal. I did have to cut a couple of mm off the rubber at the bottom edge so it fitted flush and just Araldite-ed the ac...
