Best VW Golf forum?

When we bought the first Polo a few years ago I found this site the same day, which has been very helpful.

My son still has his Polo but I have just got a MkV TSi Golf ...

Which is the best UK forum for technical questions on the Golf?

Thanks

Re: Cup Holder jammed in ... any tips?

Thanks for the replies.

Eventually managed to get it to pop out.

A dose of WD40 and exercised for ten minutes and it was back to normal.

Cup Holder jammed in ... any tips?

The dashboard cup holder on our 2007 1.2S is stuck in, and the front has come off ... presumably pulled off while trying to open it ... any tips ... been waggling it in every direction for 10 minutes to no avail. :(

You have probably done it by now, but if not, it's explained in the link above ...

Re: Sheffield meet anyone?

Just one lowered Polo in white came onto the Blue car park tonight, momentarily … then drove off … has the meeting moved elsewhere?

Re: Sheffield meet anyone?

Does this still take place ... how many cars turn up?

Are there any other meetings in the area?

Thanks

Re: Third Brake light ... inexpensive renewal

You're welcome ... did you use 250 mm as i did? ... if so, the next person ought to get 300mm as it looked to me it would fill the space better.

Re: Help!! Not sure what to do

I don’t know about the price … but providing they are aware of the oil problem and do whatever’s necessary to properly clean the housing and flywheel before the new clutch is fitted you will be back to normal.

Re: Help!! Not sure what to do

Unfortunately Richard it is highly unlikely it will ever be back to normal without at least renewing the friction plate.

Re: Roof/3rd Brake light bulb?

They are not simply bulbs in the 2001 Polo. They are a soldered set of LED's, having said that it would be possible to re-solder in a new "bulb" if you had one.

The Maplin solution is among my other posts ... http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... 13&t=47029

Hope this helps

Re: Really Unusual Problem

As a CV joint starts to deteriorate it will show first going round corners … the worn parts are not in use while going in a straight line. Test it by driving on full lock in an empty car park. Is the noise speed or rev related? Being intermittent and under acceleration it sounds like a worn spline o...

Re: Washer tube to rear split in passenger side footwell

Excuse the picture quality … taken in the dark. To get a better idea of the position ... all the white marks above the carpet will have come from passengers feet. While taking the photo I found the plastic pipe had come off one end of the brass tube so I need to find a better solution and perhaps fi...
