Isnt the GTi different in japan? I remember seeing a thread on Club Polo a little while ago about a jap import 6n2 GTi and there were some different bits on it...

no idea... how much would it cost to get the clutch changed?? I'm not even going to attempt doing it myself on this car

The gear linkage and selection is still quite tight, there's a small bit of play but it was like that when I bought it.

It doesnt crunch into any other gear except reverse.. but my old mk3 GT did that.

Hey, I've only just recently got my GTi and I read up about them having weak gearboxes.

I'm a little concerned that mine could be a potential problem.

When I'm driving and in 2nd gear take it up over 3000Rpm it will crunch into 3rd gear slightly no matter how far down the clutch is. It does do it ...
