It had been disconnected in the engine bay but when I reconnected it, it was leaking from the tailgate (I knew it was too easy a fix!) Anyway its leaking from the plastic mount on the wiper motor as per photo...

Re: 1.4 MPG Question - what do you get>?
How far is it to work? It should heat up pretty quickly. Sounds like either your waterpump isnt working properly, or you have a blocked rad or a malfunctioning thermostat Hi Alex 30 mins tops if im stood in traffic or driving slowly the gauge will hit the centre ok on a faster run it gets just less...

Re: 1.4 MPG Question - what do you get>?
Hi
yesterday I changed the coolant temp sensor for a genuine VW one.
If I leave the car running on the drive the temp goes to the middle fine but when i drove to work this morning it never reached the middle (50mph on an A road)
should it be reaching temp and in turn using less fuel?
cheers

Re: Dash warning Light - no manual can someone help
Hi found the hose for the EVAP solenoid and it goes to the round black canister (glad thats still there!) Someone disconnected the solenoid & joined the pipes together, any thoughts on why this would be done? Solenoid seems to work when the engine is ticking over, you can hear a clicking noise, ...

Re: Dash warning Light - no manual can someone help
Ah yes thats the EVAP solenoid - you are missing hoses on that, which are very important, and could well explain your high fuel consumption. Behind the drivers headlight lower down should be a round black canister (its further to the right of the power steering fluid in that photo (you cant see it!...

Re: Dash warning Light - no manual can someone help
pressure sender is the intake manifold pressure sensor located to the left hand side of the manifold - its quite important in controlling fuel consumption and so on. EVAP problem is something to do with the fuel hoses (possible fuel filter?) or a fault with the activated charcoal canister (or the s...

Re: Dash warning Light - no manual can someone help

Re: Dash warning Light - no manual can someone help
still sounds like you may have a grounding issue. Clean all your battery contacts, and check everything on the battery is tight. This could also have reference to the 18010 error. As for the temp sender, try spraying some contact cleaner (or just wd40) into the connection for the temperature sender...
