did a trial fit of my 15" steelies today to double check they clear the front calipers (they are for GTI/GT but we've all heard that before)

in terms of tyre wear at 8,000 miles, front are an even 6mm and rears are an even 7mm so pretty pleased and will be rotated after winter

i spotted a white more door on the Botley Rd in Oxford a few days, anyone from here?

i'll give an update on tyre where as need to test fit a winter wheel on the weekend and check the depths

i want to double check lengths and taper given alloy to steel, I'm expecting they are the same given you use the same bolts for the space saver

Finally got to see a white Blue GT yesterday at the Frankfurt Motorshow on the VW stand, VW said they are rare in Germany

taking my Bury kit out in the next couple of weeks for the 9W7 kit, Bury kit is nice to use on voice activation but want the mfsw controls and rcd integration

from built to at the dealers was pretty quick for mine, will be worth the wait

testament to the Blue GT is that my wife keeps 'borrowing' it for work and her mk5 GTI hasn't moved for a couple of weeks

still can't believe how few i have seen on the road

Steelies i have been looking at are Alcar KFZ 7760 15" x 6J ET38, these are German with TUV stamps

Would any genuine VW steel wheel fit? the more i look into this the more i reckon i'll run it on 15" steelies, looking around there are 15" steelies that are designed for 6R, am i bad for wanting a H speed rating
