Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

Just to add it would be boring if we all liked the same thing.
I enjoy my GTI, always had one.Could have better but it does me. I have no intention of chipping it, wrapping it, detailing it, changing the tyres, or morphing into a boy racer.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

On the 6C the remote would open the windows and fully retract the roof all at the same time.
On the new model it just tilts the roof, unlocks car and unfolds mirrors.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

SRGTD- Yes, I had a friend observe my car as I did various manoeuvres. He noted the dual purpose fog/cornering lights. It was to determine whether the lower lenses worked as cornering lights and discovered that they were probably dummy. (Thought I'd mention it just in case I actually had a malfuncti...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

Can the rear indicator bulbs be replaced with LEDs, has anyone done it?
I prefer the 'clipped' on/off with LED.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

Looking at the lighting unit in the front bumper I have realised that the led looking lights that function as drl's on lower spec models have absolutely no function on a GTI. I had hoped that they were led cornering lights.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

On a trusted B road today with a juggernaut and traffic behind it coming towards me my car decided to apply the brakes. The situation didn't require it and I've had times when vehicles have been far closer and it hasn't been triggered. Luckily car behind me was at a good distance and I'm pleased I d...

Re: Difference between 18 and 19 build quality...

At the end of 4 years of ownership of my 6C I did start to get an annoying creaking sound coming from the sunroof surround.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

It has been highlighted before, I do find the stop start in traffic slightly annoying at times. My previous GTI was DSG and I could bring it to a stop gently without the stop start kicking in, hold the car with the engine running, then move off. This new model is far more sensitive and has a propens...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

Yes it's a real mile muncher I'm finding and covers ground brilliantly. Great acceleration with the extra torque.

Re: GTI+ Ride Quality and Black Roof

I do like the ride quality compared to my old 6C. Lumps and bumps previously I'd grimace and think this is going to hurt but it's a breeze in the new one.

Re: New GTI + delivery

Cheers. Coming from the 6C it definitely eats up the road with greater ease. The car is more accomplished in the twists and turns, steering more precise and unlike the 6C you stay routed in your seat. I haven't thought wow what a difference, its just a quietly better experience... Sent from my SM-G9...
