Re: Heat issue
I have manual air conditioning but nearly always have the air conditioning switched on. Some people I've spoken to assume air conditioning is only for use when its warm outside. You can have the temperature dial set to whatever you like and still have the air con pumping. On cold winter mornings, I ...

Re: Winter Tyres guide
This is a point well worth making. Good information, thank you. Tyres are often overlooked such as in keeping the spare at the correct pressure, for example. I've been using eco tyres on my 9N and have concern about the braking distance in normal conditions, let alone winter conditions. Although wi...

One year on review
Well it's slightly over a year now since I collected my Polo and it had its first service a few weeks back on the service plan. So I thought I would post my thoughts about ownership for the last year. Which model have I got? I have the 1.0 TSI SE 95ps DSG in reflex silver. A quick note on the colour...

Re: Special customers only event
Well I have been to the event today in the full expectation of it being marketing crap as I posted originally and I wasn't wrong  So this special package that had been prepared didn't exist for a start. It was like walking in on any other day, they had to find my details on the system and start...

Special customers only event
In layman’s terms, this means I’m not special but they are trying to meet sales targets before the 69 reg comes out. Unbelievable deals on cars ordered and delivered by the end of August apparently. I’ve received a card in the post which claims an exclusive package has been prepared for me and that ...

Re: Polo to t-cross?
I think the issue is more the size of the fuel tank. I tend to get around 400 miles out of a full tank, less on winter tyres. Thing is it only costs me £50 to fill up at Shell. Bigger tank would just mean more to pay for filling up. I’m getting 58mpg on a long run with air conditioning running. My n...

Re: First service today and courtesy car Polo
Got the car back now and they have resolved the phone cable issue I mentioned in another post. It was just dust and crap that had built up in the socket on my phone. The same thing happened to the member of staff I dealt with so he sorted it straight away. Bolt covers are 40p each and on back order....

Re: What do you do with the seats?
I have the SE with standard seats and they are fine. I have a dodgy back but no issues at all driving nearly 3 hours to the Lake District. Strange that you are having these issues.

Re: Polo to t-cross?
I like the T-Roc, not really looked into the T-Cross. In any case, you would need a hefty deposit to change if you are on PCP. I’m in about £3k of negative equity.

First service today and courtesy car Polo
My Polo has gone in today and they have given me a manual version. First time I’ve driven a manual version of the new Polo and my observations are that the gear stick itself is good and comfortable to use but that the change is a little notchy but not overly so. Precise though definitely. I can’t ma...

Re: First longish journey for holiday and then valeting
I'd be cleaning up or replacing that bolt cover that has gone whitish/greyish if it was my car! Edit:- do these wheel bolt covers really need to sit that far out on these wheels, I've never had a VW Group car that ended up with the bolt covers sticking that far out - are you sure that they have bee...

First longish journey for holiday and then valeting
Had my Polo almost a year now and very happy with it. It's going in for it's first service soon but I thought I'd post about it's first longer journey as we went on holiday last week to the Lakes. My car is SE spec in silver and with the DSG box, 1.0 TSi 95ps. We drove up the M1 so far but then cut ...

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?
Gone away for the week to the Lakes. Took the M1 then across via Tintwistle to cut the corner so to speak.
Me and 2 passengers plus a boot full of luggage and managed 58.7mpg.
Air Con was on all the way too.
1.0 TSi DSG

Re: Google maps useful tip
I guess it’s just the file size that’s the issue. I zoomed out on the map until I’d got where I am going and my home within the square comfortably. Then I pressed download and job done. Obviously whenever the signal does go, you can’t get live traffic alerts but signal is only going to be an issue o...
