Re: Went to see 9n3 gti [pics] - opinions wanted

Never seen the paint fall off the calipers like that :| Some of those issues sound fairly normal such as the boot handle and that stupid cup holder design, but signs of neglect are also there. On 44k miles the services are about right (probably due another) time frame however isn't. Same with cambel...

Re: 9N3 Mirror passenger side

Lots for sale on Ebay . Depends if you need a plain non colour-coded black one or a primered one - be aware it'll cost about 30-40 to paint. Or you could get lucky at a breakers yard and find one the same colour. Or you could steal someone else's, the circle of life and all that! * * I don't condone...

Re: MOT Questions?

I doubt it, the rear one is a requirement though. According to a quick google it seems that front fogs aren't part of the test. I've been given advisories that a front fog lens was badly cracked with a couple of pieces missing, but I think that's part of the 'pointy sharp things on the cars exterior...

Re: Possible Fix For TDI LIMP Mode Issue

Failing that, there's a very thorough guide that involves cleaning the carbon buildup from the VNT vanes using Mr Muscle and a length of plastic tube. The guide is on Briskoda (Skoda Fabia VRS's use the same engine and have the same problems) and if you have a read through has helped many people sor...

Re: MOT Questions?

I've been through two MOTs now with pressed plates at different garages, not a peep about the plates.

As long as they've got the BSAU45D code and makers address blah blah all should be fine.

Porsche Oil and Coolant Cap - Sold

I've got a Porsche oil and coolant cap for sale in good used condition. No visible marks or scratches. They'll fit pretty much every VAG engine - 1.4/1.9 TDI, 1.8t, the new 1.4 TSI. Not sure the oil cap will fit the 1.2 TSI or 1.6 TDI due to the different cap shape. If you want to check I can send a...

Re: Andy's 9n3 Polo GTI

With launch control enabled if you hold the clutch down and the accelerator flat out it will hold the revs at an optimum point - say 2.5k rpm or something, then you dump the clutch, the revs climb as normal and you're away :)

Re: rear wiper hose split :-(

Unless the split is big I would try some heat shrink or amalgamating tape. Not sure about replacing the hose as most people just choose to de-wiper the rear alltogether!

Hope this helps

Mine's on 25% gain, just enough for the stock system.

Re: Subwoofer

I've got the SWE-815 as well, I'm no bass junkie either but it's still really good at adding depth and bass where the stock system lacks. It also doesn't take up much space in the boot being about half the width of a normal sub. There's a handy wired remote with gain and Low pass filter and even a p...

Re: Centre cap Badge removal leon starfish

They're most likely sticky-back badges aren't they? Your best bet would be to measure them and then buy some VW sticky-back badges of the same size

Something like these perhaps?
