Re: Hubcap's code
I am hoping that you were asking a question, if so, then I bought 1J0 601 171 BXF for the winter alloy 15" wheels (from a Polo 6R) that I bought for my wife's Polo, the wheels were 6R0 601 025 L - I can't say what the difference might be between your XRW and my BXF though. Might by just the cos...

Re: Vw polo E 1.2 shaking on idle
It could be a faulty coil or a faulty spark plug destroying/ed a coil, or it could be a timing issue due to the chain jumping a tooth. I'd image that there is a warning indicator on, that car probably needs scanned to see what it thinks is wrong, diagnosing at length is a guessing game, better takin...

Re: 6C GTI diffuser tow cover part number
Where are the reflektors? Does it fit my 2013 1,2 tsi 90 bhp 6r,6c?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk A very good point there, if it is not fitted with reflectors then it will not be legal any where in Europe! Plus, I don't think that reflectors can be bought as a separate part - though you could...

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!
I think that you meant "is the 1.4 16v reliable?" - well, it does not get much competition in these stakes form the rest of the VAG engine range, so it is very easy to say it is reliable! Yeah, you're correct, I meant the 1.4. Is that not the same engine as the 85PS engine in the Polo the...

Re: Problems with 15 plate 1.2 TSI SE
All the newer, 6R 6C Polo petrol 1.2TSI engines are belt driven completely, so no chains involved at all, so it will not be that.

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!
That one looks just right, though at that age it does come with Sat Nav, Hill Hold and TPMS which is handy to have - go boy go! Lots more room than the smaller city car. I think that you meant "is the 1.4 16v reliable?" - well, it does not get much competition in these stakes form the rest...

Hummmm, I meant to add a posting to confirm why you had posted that "picture"!
Man ready for action, new BCM at the ready - now try to get yourself out from that position - ouch! (even worse if you have just discovered that you have some small stones on the car mats!!
Maybe I'm too old!

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!
Why not be an older style/trend setter and buy as new as available Ibiza 1.4 16v 85PS as you can find, light, basic, maybe stylish - and very little to go wrong? My daughter has one and it is great just for running about, an honest old school (almost) engine with a modern light body, what not to lik...

Re: Weird Clutch Clunk
Clutch pedal mechanism, master cylinder and mechanism, slave cylinder and mechanism does seem to have become a big problem across the VAG marques, looks like someone with an economics qualification has played their part in forcing the redesign of a part that had been perfected over a number of years...

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!
What sort of warranty do you feel you have with the battery, I don't know so I'm just asking. When charging the battery, did you disconnect one of the car's leads - or are you using a 100% safe/smart/modern car battery charger? Anyway, back to bigger things, the general state of your engine, maybe t...

Re: Sunroof drains
I'd think that the front drain pipe will go down there, or down the windscreen pillar and out into the rear of the wheel arch area behind the wheel arch liner. One thing that I learned about taking off a wheel arch liner (securing screws) is, that all these screws are screwed into plastic/nylon reta...

Re: Performance Fuel
I see you have a '13 GTI, chances are you already have the better CHTE engine. So you should be quite safe from all the GTI horror stories. The CAVE engine was the one with all the problems ;) That is what has confused me on this forum - ie why are there not lots of CAVE engine GTI owners talking/a...

Re: Sunroof drains
Good! So, maybe consider modifying your car to have pipes on both sides leading down to the correct points low down in the wheel wells, I'd expect pipes for one side to be same for pipes on other side. If you are in any doubt, look up the part numbers for what is fitted to the 2000 Passat saloon, or...

Re: Performance Fuel
I think that I read somewhere that the "energy available per unit" was less for 98, 99 etc than for 94,95 due to everywhere now just adding in Ethylene or something else which has a much lower "energy per unit" than the base petroleum spirit. Now what that can mean is, if your ca...

Re: Sunroof drains
I never had any problems with my 2000MY Passat or wife's 2003MY Polo both with electric sunroofs, but, as far as the Passat was concerned, there were four drain pipes, the two fronts coming out at the bottom of the door pillar so you could squeeze/check the "valve" at the end to make sure ...
