Re: LED Tail Light Bulbs
Yeah, am aware along with 2 rear fogs... Hence I want to double check the wires are there both sides. I'd imagine so, for this reason and for LHD too, sounds stupid having several looms all for the same job. Also means you might be able to see when going backwards! Shame they didn't incorporate LED...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
I don't go near the redline when the engine isn't warmed up. On my Golf R it would go into the shaded red zone before changing gear. The polo seems to change a lot earlier. 9n my manual Golf R, for a lot of miles, the rev limiter used to cut in at 6000 revs when accelerating, now it'll hit 6750 if ...

Re: Fuel tank size
Just did my first long trip and managed 5.8L/100km long distance (NZ still has crap roads, it may be 100km/hr but windy and up/down hill so can never get great mileage) That's about 42mpg Around "town" which is my short drive to work (about 15kms of 50k/hr max zone of up/down corners and s...

Fuel tank size
Hi guys! So my first fill, i managed to get it down to say about 20~30km remaining i think, i filled up and it took 38L(8.35Gal?). From what i read it's a 40L(8.8Gal?) tank. Does this mean i only had 2L(.44Gal) left or is there a backup reserve? Reading the manual i am not sure if it's 33L(7.25Gal) ...

Re: Polo arrived today! (NZ RHD)
Thanks everyone! Been clocking up some kms for the run in so far so good. Also did a little research, so the turbo is a ihi is20 turbo, same turbo thats in the mk7 gti which is interesting! Boost psi reading online they peak around 17-18psi. One thing i noticed with the screen performance car featur...

Re: GTI Engine specs and build
I am pretty sure i read up as well as it has the E8888-3b engine setup.
However i am hoping my vehicle is arriving in the next 1-2 weeks so i will be able to inspect/confirm this.

Re: Vin numbers
WOW SRGTD - thank you so much for that clarification, that makes me feel allot less nervous and better about what i have been told. That makes sense Hopefully i get the email today with an update, if it's in their system with a stock no. i would assume they have it and are organizing registration/pr...

Vin numbers
Hi! I have been given the Vin number (yet to confirm where my car is, if in NZ or ship, or still in SA) i was told the build date was 14/09. The weird thing is the vin number (first numbers excluding the last 6: WVWZZZAWZKU This is weird because from what i read online the "K" relates to 2...

Re: GTI Engine specs and build
I thought it was a combination of both. it definitely has direct. These days they are doing dual because of carbon build up on the intake valves.

Nah i have seen beats versions in reviews as well, the sub/amp is a slim one set on the LHS of the arch/wheel well, with battery still in the boot in the center.

Re: New GTI + delivery
They must be having the main issues with the new regulations (WLTP) and/or LHD setup. I have been informed my RHD to NZ is either in build (14/08) or about to go into build (14/09) not sure if my dealer made a mistake on the month. should be leaving on the boat the end of this month! Don't think we ...

Re: Owner's Handbook/Manual
The manual is awful, really awful. Most pages are full of absurd warnings such as “Warning. Do not drive over people as it can be dangerous” and “Warning, do not drink the petrol”. Okay I exaggerate a bit, but not by much. I find it very hard to use, and uninformative. As regards mpg, dunno, mine s...
