Re: Analogue dial lights
I would video it if possible, showing the dash lights off and the headlamp switch on. It needs to be on properly though- not sidelights, at least in my Ibiza and my previous Fabia.

Re: Fuel Consumption of a 1.6 MPi Polo
My long-term average in my Ibiza with the 1.0 TSI 115PS 6-speed manual was 50.9mpg last time I checked, which calculates to 5.55l/100km apparently. I commute 35 miles each way on the motorway, so my fuel economy is pretty decent. I'm certainly not complaining about the fuel economy!

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC
It can certainly give quite a good bit of deceleration. It slammed on the brakes pretty hard for me the other day when some Einstein pulled out at about 55 into the middle lane while I was passing at 70. It would certainly have put on the brake lights.

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC
When driving along in ACC and you start coming up to another car, you can hear the brakes coming on (more of a slight hiss as the pads start rubbing, not like first thing in the morning, when the pads clean off the over night corrosion build-up. Question. when this happens, (the brakes come on) whi...

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC
The ACC in my Ibiza will shout at you to change gear if it's approaching a stall, beeping like the Front Assist system does. You can change gear perfectly happily with it while using it too, for example if traffic slows from 50 to 30, keeping the engine at the optimum speed.

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC
It's frustrating- much of the hardware is there, but it's still tricky and expensive to add ACC! For regular cars with Front Assist, there is a 'mid' version of the ABS/ESP module, which can activate the autonomous braking but not much else. A 'low' version would be just regular ABS/ESP, but that's ...

Re: Dashcams
I've seen some which look a lot more 'factory', which integrate in around the sensor cluster on the windscreen looking a bit like the auto high beam setup that some cars have. Anyone got a good recommendation on those?

Re: My Polo R Line
That's why I got an Ibiza! With a long commute I wouldn't be able to afford a GTI+, but the Ibiza Xcellence Lux is fully loaded. ACC was a must for me, and the digital dash and LED lights are awesome. And yes, the Nav is pointless. I've used it twice too, both times when my phone had run out of juice!

Re: Central Armrest help needed
I believe it's the same unit as the Seat Ibiza, which various people have fitted to their cars (for a while it was in the accessories brochure) https://www.seataccesoriescatalogue.net/en/product/product/45/1558/4252 Prices were around £100 for the parts https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads...

Re: Colour
I think the blue looks great personally, although a black or white car with the red detailing looks awesome too.

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?
Do you have climate? Or was the AC on cold at fan speed 3 or 4? Because the stop/start won't work if the climate control is actively cooling the car, or if the fan is on too fast with regular AC.

Someone was killed on a street in South Manchester where a friend lives for his Audi S3. It's just a car. I'll do the basics but not prepared for anyone to get hurt over it!

Re: Polo Gti security
Unless you live in a pretty rough area with desperate thieves, I doubt anyone is going to break into your house for the keys to a Polo GTI - there are far quicker cars out there that are relatively common: Golf R, BMW135/140, Audi S3 etc. If they can't grab your car by remote means, without the key...

Re: Third itteration of Polo coming?
Well, they do make Skodas in Germany! Some of the Karoqs are built in Germany, due to production constraints in the Czech factory. The Bratislava factory produces the Up Triplets, along with the Touareg, Q7, Q8, and Porsche Cayenne. The Audi Q3 is built in the Martorell factory in Spain, alongside v...

Re: Arm rest
But not forwards and backwards, like the new one!
I find it fine, slid a bit forward. It's the same unit in the Ibiza (same part numbers, I believe). But I have the seat quite low as I'm quite tall.
