Re: Bonnet

Wow its been a while since I installed them! Thanks for linking to the threat SRGTD. @silver38 - Diversion stores do have a lot of supplies for the Polo AW/GTI, just a word of warning though. They're overpriced. They buy most of their products from other sources and just up the cost. I've also had t...

Re: VW Used Car Service Plan 25% discount for Black Friday

Are these the deals?

I was tempted by VWs extended warranty a few months back, but I was told this was only applicable to cars with zero modifications. I have some external mods (body kits) so that was a no go at the time. Not sure if that would still apply with the £30 a month option.

Re: Polo reliability and the latest What Car report

Sorry to hear about your bad experience Mike. Very disappointing customer service from VW and wouldn't blame you for choosing another car or dealership next time around. I had a slight issuer with my coolant earlier this year. I could see a visible leak (pink fluid) coming from the coolant tank. VW ...

Re: What’s It Worth?

I'm starting to consider my options. PCP will be up in May 2023 with a balloon payment to be made.

I know I can get a good price for the GTI (low mileage, 18k). Was initially thinking a loan to buy the car, but now I'm thinking would it make more financial sense to part ex for a new car.

Re: Polo reliability and the latest What Car report

Polo GTI+ 2019 (May).

The only 'issue' I had was the brakes making a 'squeaking' noise when reversing. Many people on the forum had the same issue. This was fixed by VW... eventually.

It wasn't dangerous, just mildly annoying. Apart from that, the car has been very reliable for me.

Always thought the touch controls seemed like a silly idea.

Not surprised they're dropping them.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Changed my front wiper blades as per above and the difference is night and day. Thanks for the suggestion guys. Also washed / polished (Autoglym super resin) for the first time since buying the car last month. I'd been waiting for what looked to be a few dry conservative days before doing this. It'...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?

Had a call from VW today. They offered me a chance to go in and have a 'consultation' with the sales teams regarding a new car. 7 months away from the Polo GTI being 4 years old. They kept mentioning being in good equity which I was aware of due to the price of second hand cars. Part of me would li...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Took mine out int the rain today for the first time since picking it up last week. And what a racket the wipers make (IE. judder etc.). I'll have a shot at cleaning the screen and wiper blades and see if that makes a difference. Hey, maybe it will get better over time  Save your time and repl...

Re: I discovered a new feature on my Polo GTI+

SRGTD, I might be confusing myself here but I always thought the 'official' method of disabling keyless entry was: Press Lock Icon on Key Fob > Press the 'Dimple' once on the handle > Keyless Entry is now disabled. That's always worked for me. Yes, that’s the way I always disable it when park...

Re: 2021 GTi + air conditioning is not very good?

Will definitely consider a re-gas soon, this heatwave (again) is driving me crazy. Just done a 30 mile journey in around 28 / 29 degrees of heat and full sunshine. The air con coped OK but I had it turned to quite a low temperature (manual air con with the dial turned to roughly what would be...
