Re: Duplicating Car Key and Remote

Hi Gerinemo, I am still waiting for the cable (VAG K CAN Commander 1.4) that I ordered. It's coming from China so it takes some time. :) Will definitely update this post if I can get my pin and do an adaptation. If you want a spare key, you can start now by buying a blank and getting it cut. You als...

Re: Duplicating Car Key and Remote

My first goal is to get the security access code for my instrument cluster which I believe is VDO so I can access the immobilizer. I got the wrong cable so I am getting another one called VAG K+ CAN Commander 1.4. I hope I can get the code with that one. The RFID chip in the old key that I got might...

Re: Duplicating Car Key and Remote

Hi RUM4MO,

I got a blank key cut and an old remote from another Polo 9n3. Followed the instructions from my first post and confirmed that it works! I now have another working remote. :)
Now, I need to work on the immobilizer chip.

Re: Duplicating Car Key and Remote

Thank you for the advice RUM4MO. I will be purchasing a used key in Japan and for the same engine code as my car so it should have the same frequency. I am not yet sure if my car is using immo 3 or immo 4. In case it is using immo 4A (with Adaptation), I should be able to use that old chip from the ...

Re: Duplicating Car Key and Remote

Hi RUM4MO, Thank you for responding. I am planning to buy a used remote for a Polo of the same model/engine (9NBUD) so I’m assuming that it will have the same frequency as my current remote. I will let you know if it will work. As for the transponder chip, is this the same as the immobilizer chip? I...

Re: Duplicating Car Key and Remote

Looks like it is possible to reprogram a used remote.

Duplicating Car Key and Remote

Hi Folks, I only have one key/remote for my Polo 9N3. I know where to get a blank key but I don't know yet where to take it to have it duplicated. My question is about the remote. I know where to buy a used Polo remote from another car of the same model but my question is, can I reprogram it using t...

Re: Access to Reverse Light Switch

The 9N3 only has one reverse light. The drivers side is the fog light and has a red filter You are the best, alexperkins! Thank you so much. I have never seen a car with only one reverse lamp so I thought the driver side was broken. I was able to activate the rear fog lamp by putting the knob in he...

Re: Access to Reverse Light Switch

I am still trying to find the reverse light switch. My transmission code JUF. How is the reverse light switch connected to the circuit, in series or parallel? If I still have one of the reverse lights working am I looking at the wrong component?

Access to Reverse Light Switch - SOLVED

Hello Everyone, I need to check the wires coming out of of the reverse light switch because only the left reverse lamp is working. I have confirmed that the right side bulb is not busted and that there is no electricity coming out of the wire/connector. My first question is: do I access the reverse ...

Hi coopern, if I connect a media player, it will be through the AUX input (RCA) of my navigation system, not through that black CD changer connector. :)

Re: Front Breakpads Without Sensor

From your pictures, I am guessing that that Polo had already had its front brake pads replaced as the manufacturer's name on the back of the old pads is not one that VW fit at factory. The brake pads life in service will depend on how you use the car and the brakes, if you can see the pads through ...

Re: Front Breakpads Without Sensor

All I can suggest is to ask the official importer of VW cars into Japan about this. The reason why I am suggesting this is, some functions are required by law in certain sales territories and some others will be offered to the VW importer for any single area in the world and it be up to them if the...

Front Breakpads Without Sensor

Hi Everyone, I recently replaced the front breakpads on my VW Polo. The new ones I ordered have a wire which I know is the sensor. See the image below. bpnew.JPG When I went on to replace the old ones (original VW pads), I didn't find a wire attached to any of them. See the image below. bpold.JPG I ...
