It's such a protracted business coming from SA. I wish they still made it in Spain , well the 3 door they did. Think the 5 door was always SA. Have monitored marine traffic previously but won't bother this time. I'm thinking possibly my last petrol engine , I don't like the current VW electric offer...

The tracker used to be very reliable and often ahead of any dealer utterances. 2010 GTI and 2015 GTI deliveries were glitch free with the tracker.

My dealer said that VW aren't particularly good at times in keeping them updated with car builds and delivery.
So mine was build week 24. Best case scenario it's already on a ship heading this way , worse case its not on a ship yet.

Thanks Andy. I think my confusion is that I thought there were further status codes to say arrived at SA port etc and so on. Or do they skip those now and 'in transit from factory' generally covers travel to port and onto Europe and everything else. Dealership think it's possible it arrives this mon...

My dealership is pretty good with video updates for my car order. I'm told status 30 in transit from factory. Pretty slow maybe considering they built it in June. Answers on a postcard.

Been told mine has left the factory , possibly could arrive middle of August. I said best keep it until reg change in September.
Wouldn't think the mooing is still happening as they successfully identified the problem and fixed our current models.

Looking at one or two vids from buyers in South Africa, the seats look full leather. Are they an option there and if so why not here? Microfiber and faux leather in the UK.

Re the brake noise.
Very straight forward. Done under warranty. Think I was one of the first to alert my dealership to possible issue. Recorded sound for them. They then began to read of the issue elsewhere etc. Mine was sorted pretty much as soon as the fix was available.

Remember the days when a little app showed you what status your vehicle was. The joy of getting a notification and animation illustrating what stage it was at. Never needed to speak to the dealer until it had arrived.
