Re: travel assist currently unavailable

Fingers crossed all get it sorted. Touchwood I’ve been lucky with mine but currently looking to change the car so hopefully it can last a bit longer.

Re: keeping windows operable after ignition off

Fair enough, I thought you could set it so it only did the drivers window but I’ve never checked.

Re: keeping windows operable after ignition off

Can’t you just tick convenience open/close in the cars options menu then hold the unlock key to lower them and hold the lock key to raise them? Seems a lot simpler for opening and closing the windows.

Re: VW Polo GTI 25th Edition

If you were considering getting a polo gti I could see why someone would pay extra. If you already have a polo gti then, personally, it’s not worth it. Some decals, leather seats and different wheels with no mechanical differences or improvements is purely for the fanboys.

Not for me, just some decals and leather seats. I’m considering switching back to something bigger anyway.

Re: Dashboard Rattles !!

The only rattle I have in nearly a year of ownership is when I Chuck things in the cubby in front of the dsg. I have a charger cable loose so thinks usually rest on it then rattle. It’s been surprisingly well made for a polo, we’ve had a few between Mrs lancslad and I.

Re: Car accident repair cost (pic included)

To be fair mine went up about £160, but it wasn’t a fair comparison. When I renewed last year I paid £480 with loads of extras but it was in my Tiguan. This year it cost me £640 to stay with LV (who were cheapest bar VW and they had bad reviews) in the gti. When I then got a quote for my old Tiguan ...

Re: Car accident repair cost (pic included)

Whilst I agree on the refurb/repair over replace it’ll be because it’s less time and effort to put a new one on. Therefore more time with other cars and more money. They want cars in and out the workshop asap. When my Tiguan was hit last year it obliterated my wing mirror and left a small scratch on...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?

The new limited edition is also in the VW uk website now. Not for me, £31k for a polo gti is excessive even if it does come with leather seats. It’s the only polo I’ve seen that doesn’t look bad in ascot grey either (sorry if anyone has an ascot grey polo!). For me the gti is on borrowed time. I en...

Re: shocked at my gti car insurance increase

Same issue here. Was paying £400 (lot of extras and very low voluntary) and they now want £680. Tried comparison sites and best was £650. Tried direct with those “not on comparison sites” companies and it was £1000 plus. Not had an accident, no tickets, no changes, already at max no claims (most sto...

I’ve had two facelift gtis (don’t ask) and both do this. I believe it was a change to help economy.

Re: Cost of replacing a cam belt has just risen by 50%

A colleague of mine just paid £350 for his Mazda 3s second service. What was interesting is the brakes were changed as part of the service routine…. I would have expected brakes to last longer than 2 years at 20k miles.

Re: R Line seats - Opinions?

My wife has the facelift r line and loves it, no aches or pains at all. I’m the same in my gti. Think maybe we got luck with our setups quickly.

My only issue is I need a little lumbar support now but that’s my back.
