I blame the students*. The students in the flat below me were back to making "the floor is vibrating" type noise last night that I went out to my new house (oh, yes!) and spent the night there. No furniture or carpets - just a sleeping bag and work to get done. Not a sign of anything last ...

I think Clarkson killed this car off with his review in last Sunday's Times. He pretty much succeeded with the Vectra - perhaps he's got too much influence? He really did not like it. http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12529-2045424,00.html [quote]Even James May, my colleague from Top Gear,...

Google maps...

The UK Satellite pictures have been *drastically* improved. Call me a cynic, but I wonder if this has anything to do with the forthcoming council tax revaluations...

But still worth a look - these are extremely detailed images.

veedub-ally and I are meeting in Ikea's car park at Braehead way far across on the left hand side (over past the collection points) to head up there on Sunday afternoon. We'll be leaving promptly at 1pm if anyone cares to join us for some convoy action. Deek. (Yup, I'm taking the Smart up!)

Josh gets all of his work done at JBS, too -- might be worth tracking him down for an opinon.

In fact, I'm so keen on this thing, that I played about with those images in photoshop last night, and it looks great with the horizontal chrome slats blacked out and the rest of the chrome left. That, in steel grey or shadow blue with Monza 2s on it and you're there. You're also looking at £19.5k ...

I'm *seriously* interested in the Jetta, so much so that: http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/462179/ShowPost.aspx Just need to sort out the money and I'm there... (Maybe ) Deek. BTW, I went there to ask about the Polo GTI as well - also not coming until April - and the guy showed me this completel...

My *big* crash which taught me to drive sensibly and brake with a buffer was when I pilled up the back of a rather nice MK2 Golf GTI. This had obvious damage - bent and pushed in bumper - but when the quote came back from the garage its boot floor was appartently buckled - cue £1500 claim (and this...

That's what I'm thinking. More car for less money. No GTI badge, but the rest should be more or less the same (I'm guessing the Jetta's ride will be softer). Bit of a Q-car in the making there...

Well, I have just noticed this in the new VW price lists:
Golf:
GTI 2.0T 3 door 2.0 ltr 6 speed manual 200 194 20,335.00

Jetta:
Sport FSI 2.0 ltr 6 speed manual 200 194 18,790.00
So that might open a few possibilities to me (once I've done some more saving...)

I'm holding judgement on the Fox until I've seen one in person. I'm also not a fan of the move away from blue and red lighting in the interior.
