Re: Gap insurance

Hi, Also try Motoreasy as they offer competitive prices and there is a discount code on their site. Avoid the dealer as they will charge circa. £400 for a return to invoice policy where companies like ALA and Motoreasy will charge around £125 before discount codes are used, and you will get better c...

Re: New Pricelist, Effective 01/05/2020

Hi, Advice for those in the defined benefit pension camp or disposable income; don’t pay cash for the car. The best plan, and I do it every time I buy a new car, is take out the finance agreement so you get the deposit contribution, and that can be in the thousands, then call the finance company wit...

Re: Carista

Hi,

Have a look at the link I’ve taken from the Carista site. There are a number of mods for the car.

Re: Should not drive and can't' get service. Advice please!

Reading a few dealer web sites about the best action when the car needs servicing or repairs, they say call them. This way they have a record that you called should there be any pushback when things get back to normal.

Re: Should not drive and can't' get service. Advice please!

Hi, Please have a look at the information from the VW web site. If your vehicle is due any service, maintenance or repair work please contact your local retailer to discuss their availability and whether work can be delayed. They may be able to help with collection and delivery so that you do not ha...

Re: Ceramic coating

Hi, Totally agree, Lifeshine is an absolute waste of money. I remember my local dealer was offering this at a super never to be repeated price of £499! If I wanted the other extras, Smart Repair, wheels and tyres, gap, the total was £1995! I was polite and refused, well I did say a few works like, o...

Re: Alloy wheel scuff repair.

Hi, Sorry to hear about the damage to the wheel. I used the company below who refurbished my diamond cut alloy for £110 including vat. There are a number of companies who do similar work in your area, but as ever it’s always worth checking them out first. https://www.premierwheelrepairs.com/ Good luck

Re: Should I complain? Picked up polo last wk

Hi, With such low mileage on the car (800) I would guess this could be a mobility car registered for a client and the deal was cancelled. I’ve seen this before, so the car stays in the VW network rather than stock piled within the Mobility agency’s stock. Also the service record you’ve seen for Dece...

Re: VOLKSWAGEN POLO 1.0 TSI 115 SEL 5dr DSG 7 speed what to check

Hi, As said by others, check the paintwork, and make sure things like the over mats are still in the car, look in the boot to see if the spare or space saver and associated jack, wheel brace and locking nut socket are all there. Have a good look at the tyres and alloy wheel for scrapes or cuts. I’m ...

Re: Polo passenger A pillar creaking/rattling

Hi, The creaks, and rattles usually return in the cold weather, mainly due to the different plastics in the car reacting differently when close or touching one another. I’ve found using 303 Aerospace Protectant works wonders. Not only is it perfect for keeping the plastics looking good, I’ve found i...

Re: Insurance on a PCP

I’m with Direct Line so checked the assumptions on the quote form so having the car on a PCP isn’t an issue. Also certain this was similar on other policies I’ve had over the years.

A call maybe the best way rather than run any risk having the wrong cover.

Re: Insurance on a PCP car

Hi, You are correct that with PCP you aren’t the legal owner until the final payment has been made, but over the years most insurance companies understand PCP and offer sensible prices. It your existing insurance company doesn’t offer a sensible deal then go elsewhere, and definitely use a compariso...

Re: Insurance on a PCP car

Hi, As john896 says, the cars is yours as you are the registered owner. On Gap please check out other providers such as ala.co.uk and totalloosgap.co.uk as they provide the same, if not better cover that the dealer will offer - they will tell you scare stories about other providers to put you off th...

Re: Rights when you've bought a brand new car

Hi, The DSG gearbox definitely takes some getting used to, especially if you’ve driven a standard automatic before. I still find crawling in traffic the gearbox will hunt a little, so if the traffic is bad I often select manual mode. Also make sure it’s not in sport mode when in heavy traffic as tha...

Re: Heat issue

My brain is now hurting. As I3rady has said, try with the a/c and if the car cools all is well and if not, then there’s a possible fault. Once more I’ll say, switch on the a/c if you want a cool car as there is no way you will reduce the temperature of the car by dragging in the air outside if the a...
