Re: Weird alloy wheel centre cap deterioration
@ElAlastair; Some wheel cleaning products will degrade / damage wheel centre caps and the plastic wheel bolt covers. Have you changed the products you use on your wheels or have you started going to one of those hand car wash places, or if you already use the hand car wash places, have you recently ...

Re: 2024 Model Year Polo R Line
I also have the heated washer jets as I specced the winter pack. They are still not that great when the window is fully iced up and you end up using a lot of the washer fluid to melt the ice. The heated windscreen option is the best option but they don’t have that for the Polo. apologies for interj...

Re: 2019 Polo GTI - buying advice
A 2019 Gti will be due for the cambelt change in the very near future. So insist that it and the waterpump are changed before you buy it. Check if the tyres size has been up’d to 225’s from the OEM 215’s as this will throw the rolling circumference off and with it the speedo. Also the extended warr...

Re: cheap bling for key fob
the GTi version looks fatter all round unless your phone's camera lens was closer to the right hand fob? mine are the same dimension fortunately with the chrome or plastic fitments .. if someone had a over already it would still fit ok Ignoring the end caps, they’re both the same size. Must be my (...

Re: cheap bling for key fob
This is mine - spare key fob with chrome GTI end cap and the one I use with the black plastic end cap. The chrome end cap is larger than the plastic one because of the space needed the GTI logo.

most likely! many of the so-called performance and economy figures are massaged.. take the so-called urban cycle... (which stands for Un Reachable Bluff And Nonsense) have been found to be highly optimised right down to optimum fuels, tyres and pressures, payload and terrain etc etc. no typical to ...

Re: cheap bling for key fob
I have the ‘GTI’ version - a pair of them came with the car, along with a pair of the standard black end caps. The chrome GTI end cap is slightly larger than the black plastic one and with it fitted, my key fob won’t fit inside my silicone key fob cover, so I’ve de-blinged (is that even a word? 🤣) m...

Re: MK11 Polo R-Line buzzing noise
It’s not normal; IMHO the dealer’s talking rubbish. In an ideal world, a new car should be free of creaks, rattles and vibrations, but bear in mind that during the colder winter months, there’ll be less natural flex in the interior trim - especially when much of the trim is hard plastic as it is in ...

Re: Fuel consumption
Does the engine stay running while coasting??, if so wonder how much saving is achieved vs the normal where the fuel injection ceases from > than ~ 1600rpm down to ~ 1000rpm, (with accelerator released) Engine just drops back to "tick over" when it coasts. Probably doesn't make a HUGE dif...

Re: USB-C Added
I rarely have rear passengers for any decent length of time to warrant doing that..i have a 4 way multi USB connector with voltage read out in the front accessory socket which does me. I'd really like the console though.. That would be useful... but not looked into doing anything with that idea.. T...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
My car has been into the dealer this week for fault diagnostic and i have a New steering wheel ordered ... Also the Polo Gti is no good in the snow unfortunately :D :D I slid down a hill today ... trying to get back up it the car spun out quite a lot and failed, also this cause the main unit to swi...

Re: Fuel consumption
In the 40 months I’ve owned my GTI+, I’ve never used Eco mode so haven’t experienced the coasting function. From what I’ve read on other forums, Eco mode also; dulls the throttle response, requiring the accelerator pedal to be pressed harder to get up to cruising speed and for manoeuvres such as ove...

Re: Demisting
There are no silly questions or wasting time posts, Pete I don't have a button to press on my Polo..i have to turn the joystick 180 degrees to turn on the heaters. Often forget that too😂 My polo is the same but my favourite trick is to leave it on….. I left them on for nearly 21 years on a Bora, st...

Re: Bonnet to grille panel gap… how to adjust?
Just a thought based on my own experiences - is the driver’s side bonnet catch fully engaging when you close the bonnet? On a recent occasion when I closed the bonnet after checking under-bonnet fluid levels, only the passenger side catch fully engaged and it looked similar to yours. I lifted the bo...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Wondering how happy you are with the build quality of your GTIs. Just dropped my car to the garage - I've had a humming noise coming from the rear end when the car would exceed 50 MPH. VW technician said that it was due to a faulty wheel bearing - on 8000 miles? The car also has several squeaks and...
