Re: SEL 1.0 TSI 95PS or 110PS?

I suspect they have dropped the spare wheel to save weight and fit underneath some kind of emissions limit, often the reason. Took mine out today just to check it and pressure, weighs a lot

Re: Idle Revs

Mine normally sits at 800rpm but it can behave oddly in traffic, has a mind of it's own. Noticed if you are sat in a line of traffic in neutral with engine running, as you select a gear the revs increase slightly by magic. There is also an electrical energy saving feature, it slows down the speed of...

Re: The Harlequin has returned

I think i have only ever seen one original Harlequin mid 90's Polo a long while ago. Not sure the theme suits the current shape, also being a wrap would it be durable long term? If it reaches the UK guaranteed to be a rare sight. Agree it would be a change for some more bold colours, recently it's ...

Re: Audi Rotor Wheels Modification

Sounds like an interesting modification, would be good to see some pictures of the wheels you have in mind. Might need to swap over the VW centre caps as well I assume they are a straight swap so you don't end up with Audi badge on the car?

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

Yes I did read the original post and felt so bad for the lad! It just goes to show how carried away you can get when buying a new car with the added extras! I was pleased to read on that he eventually got it sorted and ended up with a better car for a lower price! As for the mileage.... it will pro...

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

Old thread revival! Ah Mr Tom Oates - he was all over here like a rash last August with some very helpful advice provided by veteran members re PCP and GTI deals. Wonder where he is now? The young ones never stay long. Yes, he was very active on the forum up to the point that he took delivery of hi...

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

Sounds like a good deal. The Match is a nice model, picked up one last October. The 95ps engine is fine, keep an eye on oil consumption for first 1000 miles, it should loosen up as you near 3000 miles. I find the Eco tyre pressures make quite a difference to improved economy figures. As others sugge...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

The mk8 Golf (or at least some models of the mk8 Golf) has a full width LED strip that runs across the top of the grille between the headlamps. I personally think it looks tacky and gimmicky. I can remember seeing a particular make / model of car in the 1980’s and 1990’s in the USA with full width ...

Just stupidly bright, there's really no need for it and it's time the authorities put a limit to it.
Imagine being stuck behind them in a traffic queue with their foot on the brake pedal

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

And here is the German website Autobild's take on the facelift: https://www.autobild.de/artikel/vw-polo-facelift-2021-erlkoenig-preis-marktstart-18438345.html Not sure im sold on this: "an LED strip connects the daytime running lights of the headlights" The mk8 Golf (or at least some mode...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

I have seen a few articles online. This sideshot is my favourite. The driver appears to not be a fan of the camera men  That looks hardly different from the current model, in fact the wheels seem worse with that spoke design and the bolt holes integrated giving the appearance of a cheap wheel ...

Re: Loud tyre noise front wheel

I'm of an age where I remember 'Paddy Hopkirk' selling stick on sound deadening for your car. When only luxury cars had it but you wanted it in your Avenger/Escort/Cortina. :) Paddy Hopkirk! That takes me back, loads of stuff in car accessory shops - all long gone. Most of it unnecessary but it mad...

Re: SEL 1.0 TSI 95PS or 110PS?

A legacy from when garages were built for Minis and Vauxhall Vivas... Are more modern garages any better? Our house was built around 2000, the length is fine but the width is shocking and even getting out of our daughter's Fiat 500 was difficult. It reminds me of an aunt who built an extension to b...

Re: Loud tyre noise front wheel

Cheers thanks for the replies. It might just be my imagination, often you do imagine some things with cars but they are all slightly different - I noticed on this 2020 model slight differences to the 2018 spec. One being they have deleted the twin horns and replaced with a weedy single tone  ...
