Battery light on dashboard
For about a week I've noticed a squeaking/rubbing noise coming from under the bonnet, and I'm pretty sure its one of the belts. Only makes a loud squeak when I've stopped, not really when I'm moving. Today after giving it a good rev some dust came out and it stopped for a bit but I think one of the ...

Re: Scratch marks
There were black marks all over the chamois cloth so I didn't give it enough of a deep clean! Its not been washed in a long time so some of the dirt is more stubborn than most, guess I have to put in more elbow grease! I know people who wash their cars every week but I think that's a bit excessive? ...

Re: Wishbone bushes
I even had the mechanic check the vehicle before the MOT and he said its fine, both wishbone's solid so he doesn't know what the Bosch garage was on about them being worn. Probably trying to fleece me for a few hundred!

Re: Scratch marks
Ok cool, will have a look for it. Should have known better than to scrape the body with a dry chamois cloth, such a dumbass!
I'm guessing I'll have to use it only after I've washed it again? i.e so don't apply it straight on

Scratch marks
I had a go washing the motor yesterday, first was splashing it with buckets of clean water to loosen the grime and stuff, then mixed up some car shampoo and started to wash. Rinsed with more cold clean water to finish. As I went to use the chamois cloth to dry however I didn't soak it first, and now...

Re: Wishbone bushes
I know this was like 5 months ago but just to notify everyone the motor passed the MOT with no advisories! And I still have the motor now! Driving very well as always, esp on motorways!

Re: Wishbone bushes
They said the wrong screw has been used on the end as well. I remember they had an issue getting hold of the clutch cable back in August. Hard to know who to believe these days cos I've read bad reviews on chain places who only want to make money so sometimes they'll make work up. Surprised the guys...

Re: Wishbone bushes
Right, back from ATS (was sceptical about using them cos read alot of bad reviews). Anyways they said they can't hear and sounds when turning full lock to the left, so its not related to the wishbone bushes. Suspension is a bit weak so 50/50 whether it'll pass the MOT, if it doesn't I hope I just ne...

Re: Wishbone bushes
Ah, well tomorrow I'm having it looked at by ATS, they're doing a free check so I wanna know for sure before I put any money in it. It just said on the invoice sheet both front wishbone rear bushes are worn, which might be why it makes a grinding sound when I turn full lock to the left (doesn't happ...

Wishbone bushes
Car's MOT is due next month, when I had it serviced last year the garage mentioned both front wishbone rear bushes have worn, which was a few weeks after the MOT. Is this tested as part of it? And can it count as a fail? When I turn full lock to the left there's a small grinding noise so I think its...

Re: Slow puncture
I know, is it just coincide that these wheel and tyre issues started occurring after Halfords Autocentre fitted those new tyres lol.

Re: Slow puncture
Whatever they did it worked lol. I inflated it 34.5 psi the day before doing a 140 mile trip to see family over Christmas. Checked the next day and the pressure was still the same! Last week on the passenger side front wheel I discovered a puncture though. Found out initially the tyre was completely...

Re: Temperature gauge not in the middle
So what needs replacing/changing?
Its been like this for a few months now so how urgently do I need to look at it?

Re: Temperature gauge not in the middle
Yeah it only ever goes bang in the middle when I'm in traffic and the car has been driven for over 30 minutes. If on the motorway for 10 minutes or so it'll drop below that, but never below 70 though. I'm thinking I may have the same problem but I'm not sure. This is how it shows after about 8 miles...

Slow puncture
(Or fast puncture rather!) 2 and a half weeks ago I inflated all my tyres to 34.5 psi. Checked front driver's side this morning and it had gone down to 12psi! Couldn't see any immediate signs of a puncture or anything so I took it straight to my local tyre specialist, who identified a small nail in ...
