My Golf R used to average around 30-34MPG. Extremely easy to average over 40MPG in the GTI+ and thats on a tight new engine. My golf had about 20k on it when I bought it.

So far so good with Google Maps, been a long time coming!

Waze still in beta but apparently should be live within the next 1-2 weeks.

I'm a big fan of the LED headlights, had them on my previous polo too. However I do think they could do with raising up a touch, I might do this soon. Can be done with an allen key I believe.

Apple Carplay only allows the use of Apple Maps currently. However when iOS12 comes out which will be within the next month or so Google Maps and Waze will be able to be used on Carplay.

Android Auto already allows the use of Google Maps and Waze.

Question. On the digital dash rev counter on the gti plus there is a circular white line towards the centre which moves round depending on how hard you push the car. Hit 1000’s miles in my GTI+ now, quite easy to get 45MPG on a run without much effort!

Started using more revs and full throttle now it’s run in a bit and it’s loosening up nicely, fairly quick for a 200bhp car. So far so good!

Anyone noticed the small white illuminated strip under the dash pads on the dash? Quite subtle but looks good at night! Nice touch by VW.

@monkeyhanger When you say manual mode do you mean overriding the gearchanges on the paddles on the steering wheel? or moving the gearstick fully over to the left? Overriding on the paddles will only leave the box in manual for a while, I think after 10-20 seconds or so of no gearchanges on the pad...

Good stuff monkeyhanger, glad to hear it all went smoothly. Glad I’m not the only one that thinks it sounds better than the golf R haha.

Both the keys for my GTI+ have the chrome loops on the bottom of the key.
