Re: Polo gti advice needed

Kings red but I’m bias as that’s my colour and it replaced a faulty reef blue I had   I did love reef blue and if you go back through the images page you’ll find the photos. However I think kings red looks better now, it’s bright on sunny days and on dull days it takes on almost a dark red...

Re: Vehicle in offline mode

My first blue gti would not connect no matter what. Had to reject it and the replacement seems fine the last ten months.

If it worked before the service I’d give it a day, try a hard reset then call dealer to flag it up.

Re: GPF delete GTI 2023

My understanding is the GPF is like the dpf - it’ll fail MOT without it. You’d also invalidate any warranty you had.

I’m sure someone with more knowledge will be able to provide more information, but that’s my understanding.

Re: admittedly frightening encounter today

Glad to hear you and your wife are ok grazuncle. Unfortunately the standard of driving across the country is declining and the attitude of “it’s not my fault” has spread. It seems to be the standard reaction now that if someone cuts you up they then sweat at you if you react. I blame Tesco for their...

Enjoy the new car and sensible purchase. I myself am considering a Lexus for the same reasons.

Re: Fuel consumption

That’s a city thing. When I get near work in Manchester I’ve noticed that sort of behaviour every morning but have few moments on the way to work until I’m in Manchester. Even had a transit van today trying to race me at some lights for some reason.

Re: Fuel consumption

My wife has the 95ps and averages mid 40s to low 50s depending on her driving that week. She mainly does shorter journeys than myself. She drives the car as you do graz, changing up around 2K rpm and she doesn’t really ever floor it, so could just be down to how people drive the car.

[quote="Andy Beats" post_id=547289 time=1546878164 user_id=27876] Yeah, I expected better MPG too. It's annoying that I'm getting far better MPG at 70mph than I am around town, when I've bought it as a (primarily) town car. Really, it amazes me that ...

Re: ID.2all GTI Concept

I’ll have to watch this later. I predict well over £30k. I still don’t believe the id2 will be less than £25k as they originally said. An id3 starts at £37k when the matching golf starts at £26k, so I reckon the id2 (non gti) will start at £30k.

Fingers crossed all get it sorted. Touchwood I’ve been lucky with mine but currently looking to change the car so hopefully it can last a bit longer.

Fair enough, I thought you could set it so it only did the drivers window but I’ve never checked.

Re: keeping windows operable after ignition off

Can’t you just tick convenience open/close in the cars options menu then hold the unlock key to lower them and hold the lock key to raise them? Seems a lot simpler for opening and closing the windows.

Re: VW Polo GTI 25th Edition

If you were considering getting a polo gti I could see why someone would pay extra. If you already have a polo gti then, personally, it’s not worth it. Some decals, leather seats and different wheels with no mechanical differences or improvements is purely for the fanboys.

Not for me, just some decals and leather seats. I’m considering switching back to something bigger anyway.

Re: Dashboard Rattles !!

The only rattle I have in nearly a year of ownership is when I Chuck things in the cubby in front of the dsg. I have a charger cable loose so thinks usually rest on it then rattle. It’s been surprisingly well made for a polo, we’ve had a few between Mrs lancslad and I.
