Re: GTi+ Fogging

Have seen this on 3 previous vehicles in the VW range a Golf, Citigo and Leon and found that the easiest way to eliminate it is to run the air- con as when the weather gets wetter and we go into the car with damp clothes and wet shoes this moisture stays in the air. I have found that opening a wind...

Re: GTi+ Fogging

Yes, and it is particularly bad on Polos (maybe VW in general, can't comment).
Not uncommon for me to be the last out of the carpark, still waiting for the screen to clear when colleagues were driving off.
This was using a dehumidifier pad on the dash too.
This was in my Tsi and Gti.

Re: Winterising and winter wheels and tyres

Any wheels with the right stud pattern and ET will fit. Yes, Bosch aerotwin wipers. Yes, the 2 second delay between asking for screenwash and getting any is completely normal and yes it is annoying. Both our other cars (Evoque and Leaf) give you instant water. Be wary of the media update, we got one...

91CL media update

Anyone else had the 91CL update and noticed any issues?
Our United had it done and immediately started having bluetooth and apple play issues.
These issues have escalated to BT and AP not working at all now.
It's going in on Thursday, just curious.

Re: Wiper blade juddering

I think it must be something to do with the car glass and wiper tension which causes this issue. I had a VW golf 2021 courtesy car which had horrendous judder with factory Bosch blades. I cleaned the wiper and glass and still hasn’t helped. I’m going to have to buy another brand of blade until I fi...

Re: How far can I go after range gets to 0 miles? (1.0 TSi)

So, does anyone believe the 'conspiracy theory' that it was all a rouse to sell ageing petrol before it went off?

Re: How far can I go after range gets to 0 miles? (1.0 TSi)

Why let your petrol get that low in the first place? When the tank is near on empty, and during the warm days and cold nights, this can form condensation, and the more surface area exposed, the more condensation can form. Water and engines don't mix very well. There are many people who say "wh...

Re: Wiper blade juddering

I guess the weather is less favourable your side of the world compared to sunny South Africa :P In truth I mentioned it to the dealer within weeks of owning the car and all they would do is apply some cleaning solution to mitigate the judder. I also travel many KM's per day so to get up to 45000KM'...

Re: Wiper blade juddering

The front wipers on my vehicle did exactly the same, so annoying. VW also said make sure the windscreen is clean but come on. Anyways, the issue was resolved when I had my vehicle booked in for 45 000KM service and they replaced the "worn" wipers, never had a problem since. Same goes for ...

Re: first, and poor, experience with online service booking

My wife's current 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI does have a leak in its AC system which I have yet to find, regassing it only keeps the chiller working for 6 months, and again when submitted for regassing it comes back fully charged, so using the standard recharge kit does indicate to the AC person that that...

Re: Wiper blade juddering

AFAIK the only adjustment you can do is to bend the metal arm the wiper mounts onto.
And give the glass a bloody good clean, it may be the glass that's the problem.

Re: first, and poor, experience with online service booking

subtle   ... what can I say : I'm a liar? AC worked no differently than when i purchased it and the dealer i PX'd it with tested it before purchase. I told him everything (all advisories) that that needed doing for the next MOT (stabiliser bar links (rubber seals)) Well, all I can say i...

Re: first, and poor, experience with online service booking

Yes I hope you are right there..! This seems to be a theme with any garage or group. Golden or poor. I don't want an unsafe car by any means.. if the brakes need doing they need doing... What I don't want is 'your front pads are low' when only half way through. With my mileage (esp now) I'd probabl...

Re: POLO GTI+ | Police Trouble

I'm not even remotely suggesting it's the case here, but some people really act weird when they see the police. I remember one guy I used to know would physically 'shrink down' into his seat if he saw a police car, like he was in some movie and trying to avoid detection. I'm not even sure he knew he...
