Re: 2019 Polo GTI - buying advice
@vwj82; welcome to the forum. Like @PoloGTInoob, I also have a 2020 Polo GTI+ and I find the firm(ish) ride is fine, but then the majority of previous cars I’ve owned have been warm or hot hatches so the suspension set up has been biased towards good handling rather than a soft ride. In my GTI+ I us...

Re: Tyre pressure warning(?)
You’re correct - the Polo has an indirect tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that uses the ABS sensors to measure differences in rotational speed of the wheels, so if one tyre has a lower pressure than the other three, then the wheel that tyre is fitted to will rotate at a different speed to the...

Re: Travel Assist currently unavailable
Some other forum members have had this issue - see discussion thread at the link below; https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?t=78080 There’s been some mk8 Golf owners who have had the steering wheel fix and it hasn’t been entirely successful. A few forum members on Golf forums have had a second re...

Re: 2022/2023 Gloss Red Dash Inserts
Agree on the red dash inserts. My GTi+ is a 2020 pre-facelift car and I ordered it with grey dash inserts rather than have the standard satin finish velvet red dash inserts that the pre-facelift GTI had. @Biffco; I agree with @brainbow about finding a car with the spec you want - or as close to your...

Re: Advice after hitting pothole that was not visible.
With the state of the UK’s roads, your experience is unfortunately becoming more and more common. It would be worth getting your wheel alignment checked and suspension checked for potential damage, your wheels checked for buckling and the inner wall of your tyres checked for damage. As for the potho...

Re: New member looking for mpg advice
FWIW On a good run i can manage 45MPG in my 2.0 GTI lol. WIth urban driving its closer to 30-35MPG. Yeah the figures I’m getting are from what I’d call urban driving mostly. Villages, towns, short journeys etc. How does your normal mix of driving between short and longer journeys compare to your wi...

Re: New GTI + delivery
I'm not convinced that our 2019 GPF GTI+ will get as eager as my 2018 non-GPF variant is as it approaches 1 year old and 8k miles just passed. The difference between the 2 cars is substantial. Do the official figures suggest the old car is substantially faster? You may not get a reply; forum member...

Re: Creaking steering
Hi, I collected my new GTI October 23 so it’s a 73 plate, all ok at first except now I’ve got this creaking and grinding noice when on full lock both directions at low speed the garage seem to think I’m crazy but even passengers comment. Any ideas what it might be surely this isn’t right for a 3 mo...

Re: Engine oil 504/507 instead of 508/509💲💲
I don’t know the answer either. However, spending a few extra pounds on the VW recommended oil to keep the engine within warranty is IMHO a relatively small price to pay compared to potentially having to pay for expensive engine repairs or a replacement engine. Admittedly, the likelihood of a major ...

Re: Louder exhaust and another random noise
Problem solved, purring like a kitten again. Moral of the story…drive it harder/longer/more often! Thanks again. Good to hear it’s sorted 👍. From an owner’s perspective, it would be useful if the dealership spent a little time at handover of a (new or used) car to the customer explaining the sympto...

Re: Louder exhaust and another random noise
@funky; the following are the guidelines in some VAG owners manuals for petrol engined cars 2.0 litres and above with a GPF / OPF to help burn off soot accumulations in the filter if it becomes clogged up; Accelerate to around 60 mph and change down a gear. Remove your foot completely from the accel...

Re: Louder exhaust and another random noise
@funkyg; Agree with @PO10ASH re. OPF regeneration; a louder exhaust note is one of the tell-tale signs. Other tell-tale signs (you might not notice them all) are; slight hesitancy under acceleration and engine idle lumpiness (the fact you experienced this does seem to confirm an OPF / GPF regenerati...

Re: Fuel consumption
Xmas drive today and smashed my best Mpg, shocked with it :D For a 2.0 litre performance hatch, the Polo GTI can be very economical………….depending on how it’s driven of course 🤣. I think the best I’ve seen from my pre-facelift GTI+ was between 54-55 mpg on a journey of around 30 miles on ‘A’ roads. ...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti
what i was hoping that it was a standard fit not a option to have beats the car is alot of money and should have everything as standard fit :? also in the video,s it doesnt show what number of 2500 the car is thats abit of a shame  Agree, it would have been nice if it was. However, in spite o...
