Re: Ridiculous condensation

always run my air con all year round because it dehumidifies the air in the car. Don’t know if it’s just a coincidence, but I’ve never had any issues with condensation inside the car in any car I’ve owned with air con. As with SRGTD, I also always run my AC all year round and have never experienced...

Re: H7 LED vs Xenon in U-Tube Headlights

They'll be terrible. You'll need to perform a "Clear Lens Mod", as the lenses in these units have a maximum output of under 4000 to keep them e-marked etc. Hence why you need new lenses and then you'll be able to get the most out of LED or Xenon. Lenses are either made for LED or Xenon not...

Wouldn't even classify it as a modification, not worth your time to changing back to silver.

Re: Things you should know before getting the Beats audio package.

Having spent a lot of time reading and watching reviews when shopping around for quality headphones last year, the one thing everybody agreed on was that Beats by Dre products were just too bass-y. I'd have stayed away from that option even if it was available to us in the UK. I was in the same sit...

Re: How you remove racing stripes?

To start I'm going to say if you aren't comfortable doing this work then don't as decals and PPF can take the lacquer off the paint, through improper removal Here's the best video you'll find on removing PPF and Decals, and Larry will explain all the risks involved https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p...

Yep same as iichel, makes sense. Should be alright to get a used one if you want to avoid paying for a new one.

Re: TomTom solution

I run tomtom on my phone all the time - their traffic data is much more accurate than google's. but, tomtom will die within the next few years unless they can get it onto Android Auto or CarPlay. Too many people won't look further than what's already in the car. Should try Waze if you're not happy ...

Re: Launch Control limits and 620Mile run in questoins

In the old 2002 days, the only cars that had launch control were Supercars and special edition BMW's etc which destroyed the clutch after 3 launches due to the power. In 2006-8 Golf's DSG golf's got the launch control after a hidden sequence again. Baring that in mind and advances in engineering, th...

Re: GTI 6c Diamond Cutting

Just had a set of 17" Merc Alloys done ( full face is diamond cut like the mk5 golf monza's ) for £380 but that's due to the amount I use them try £475 for a set of 4. My chosen Wheel refurb place in England is Pristine Alloys, at the end of the day it's all about quality. Do it once, do it rig...

'' Don't be tempted to go for wider tyres, unless you're willing for more roadnoise to be conveyed up into the chassis, and hence into the cabin. Leave wider wheels and tyres to the boy racers. For myself, it was a matter of deciding whether I really wanted to end up with a set of nearly-new spare ...

Maybe so but personally £5 and 2 minutes of my time is easier and more cost effective than continuous arguing with VW over £20 Window Wipers.

Re: Wiper judder poll

For everyone getting wiper judder Please note as a Part-Time Professional Detailer, from my experience wiper judder can be negated by taking the coating used on the windscreen and applying it to the wiper blades. Therefore I'd recommend getting your dealer to do this versus getting new blades, prim...

Depends what you're after, but if you're after the best try using http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/ to find the best for your size :) I run Continental Premium Contact 6 but I have 17inch aftermarket BBS. The best for your size is Michelin CrossClimate Plus according to testing, that is if you're only a...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Picked up my new polo last thurs so far enjoying it! With the Apple Car Play being pretty good. Unfortunately I’ve got the wiper judder problem but I will just get the Bosch aero twins I think. Gave it its 1st long drive on Sunday night 200 miles. Seemed to handle it fairly well but a little sluggi...
