Not the resistor then

Id check your earths, a poor earth on these will cause it not to lock

Do you have a blue wire in the same loom?

The box is clicking so i guess the earth is ok. Ill have to wait until tomorrow to check if there is a blue. Are you suggesting to use the blue?

Just checked in my notes, it should definitely be blue/white on these. It didnt change to blue till the 6R
I've checked and the resistor that you need is 180 Ohm, 0.25 Watt.

You wire your interface box to output negative pulses.
The central locking control wire on the Polo is on the white 6 pole connector on the drivers A pillar, where the door wiring connects.
The wire your looking for is blue/white and is on pin 5 of the connector. I've made a note that the wire may be coloured white on some cars.
Connect the LOCK wire of your interface directly to the blue/white wire on the vehicle loom.
Connect the UNLOCK wire to the 180 Ohm resistor.
Now connect the other end of the resistor to the Lock wire of the interface box.

If you need to connect your unit to the indicators they can be found on the black 16 pole connector on the power supply ECU under the dash at the pedals. I think that is the connector to the rear right of the ECU. When I say rear, I mean towards the dash, not the bulkhead. The wires are black/green (pin 14) and black/white (pin 16).

I take the positive supply from the light switch. It's a heavy red wire. To remove the switch, push the knob in and turn it to the side light position. Now pull it towards you. The earth wire just screws on to the body. I usually use one of the dash fusebox securing screws.
Double check your wiring choice as per the above

Thanks for all your help. but just to confirm.
Do both Lock and Unlock connect to the same place on the Blue/White wire with the resistor being in series on the Unlock wire

Thanks for your help Alex. Now that the weather has improved i spent a little time on the car, and now the remote locking is working. The problem was a bad connection in the blue/white wire. I think it is in the connection in the plug between the door and the body of the car, by the door hinges behind the rubber boot. I have now run a new wire as trying to clean up or replace the plug would be very awkward. Once again thanks for your help, now its time to find someone to cut the keys and look into how to sort the immobiliser chip.

Hi

I’m trying to install the Rclick into a Polo 6R and wanted to verify a couple of things. Where’s the best earth point on this model?

I’ve connected up, the block clicks but the doors don’t unlock or lock etc.

Thanks
Steve

Theres earth points all over the place. Where did you fit the main module? Have you connected to the correct wire, and used the right size resistor?

Thanks for the quick reply, the unit is mounted behind the bonnet pull lever. I’ve connected the unit to the solid blue wire with the white wire and white/black wire with the resistor supplied by RClick

Is there a blue/white wire? Some early 6Rs have both. What colour bands does the supplied resistor have

There’s a blue and grey but no blue and white coming from the door.
The resistor Is as the picture and stated as 180 ohms in the Rclick instructions

Sounds like you may have a wiring issue of sorts if it won’t lock, or unlock

Did you use scotch locks or solder?

Scotch locks.
I can hear the relays clicking so guess power is ok. So I’m thinking either the blue wire connection or earth
