It will not sadly

The leather steering wheel is a different design regardless of being multifunction or not (same wheel, just has blanks)

As far as I know, the airbag DOES fit (50/50 chance) if going from a leather round non-multifunction steering wheel (Polo Advance) to a round multifunction steering wheel (Polo Sport) with ONLY left buttons. It won't fit if updating to a MFSW with left and right butons.

I am really confused here,

Does the airbag, from a leather highline steering wheel, fit to a NO-multifunctional T5 (Gt/etc) wheel ?!

What should we guys look for in order to be certain ?!

Has anyone tried the above combination that i mention ?

Airbag from leather steering wheel to a T5 nomulti steering wheel .

Guys, sorry to drag up an onld thread - I'm about to take stock of an R line Polo and the MFSW isnt an option annoyingly.....

Having spoken to parts they are about as clear as mud. Please can someone confirm which bits I need to do this retro fit?

Is it just the buttons and the cruise stalk? Obviously I have the R line flat bottomed wheel so I wont need the air-bag correct?

I seem to be getting told it cant be done in the dealerhsip, but this DIY says otherwise

Many thanks

The LIN-BUS can also be found on T28a/16 (connector to the driver door LHD cars). Perhaps it's easier for some :-)

Thank you very much Der Finne for a great DIY!

How about us who already have a standard left spoke mfsw, do we only need the coding when retrofitting a GTI steering wheel?
Thanks in advance :D

Will this work on Polo 6C?
Built date is 10.05.2015
It has no buttons on steering wheel at all and in car shop they said to me that I need to change AirBag Centrale, Steering wheel centrale and the price for all that is around 3000€ :?

no you need a different procedure for polo 6c. it depends whether your bcm will support it. the airbag ECU and steering angle sensor do not need to be replaced.

Hey guys,

I just fitted a highline steering wheel with MFSW but I have a problem. After I wired everything and coded, my BC buttons don't work. They still work from the wiper lever, but not from the steering wheel. I tried every coding I could find but still nothing. I even changed the wiper lever with one without BC buttons, but still nothing.

I'm out of ideas..what should I change so I could make it work ? Could it be the slip ring (my polo is the first generation, 2009-2010) or the airbag wiring ? my airbag wiring has a "D" at the end instead of "A" and the slip ring has an "E" at the end. The steering wheel is made by TRW in 2016, the same with the wiring.

The music buttons work perfectly..
