How do i change the bottom middle grille to a 6n2 GTi one?

Post by alexperkins »

Hi guys,

Another problem with my 6n2 - so far ive managed with the bulbs, the sidelights and the foglight cables (thanks to every one on here)

New problem - i cant work out how to change the middle grille at the bottom

Has anyone else done this and can tell me how to do it?

Does the bumper have to come off to do it?

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers

Alex.

I snapped em all off and bonded it back in! Unless you take the bumper off you cant remove it without snapping some clips

When I did this, I got some fairly strong wire, and looped it through the holes in the grille, and pulled the wires. I snapped a few of the clips, but it came out easily.

sounds like a plan. I must say ollie your polo is sweet as with the rims and the work youve done - and those photos really show it up!

Ye. its got a different pattern. Its a criss-cross rather than a honeycomb design. Crazy but annoying when you have a gti front grille and bottom grille that doesnt match

its def worth it - just the final finishing touch to the front. the fogs add to the effect as they also have the gti grilles.

roughly £50 to break it down £33 for the bottom grilles and £19 for the top grille (-10%discount) and plus postage :P

the headlights were £98 (-10%) so all in all about £150

ye got quoted about 35 for it - damned expensive switch but its easy to fit and an original part - cant complain!

Photos will be posted when i get it all fitted (Most likely mid december/mid january depending on when i get paid)
