What Gearbox are you running?
Standard gearbox (forget the code) at the moment.
Next big upgrade will be the gearbox (2.0FSI) with LSD, lightened flywheel and new clutch.

Thanks a lot mate, appreciate it.
Me and this car has been through a hell of a lot of stuff together so really appreciate such posts like this.

Before the conversion I was pondering over selling it, however I loved it too much. The only thing it was missing was power hence why I went down the route of a conversion. Was first thinking of a 1.6 GTi engine, but why go through all the work, effort and money for that?

Now it is a really great car to drive (although getting used to the power now). I feel somewhat safer with the power, especially on motorways.
Watch this space for more updates to come, we are not finished yet! :D

Is that the standard Golf gearbox then mate or just the standard box from the Polo?
Liking your plans for the new box & LSD, should make a hell of a difference

Yes at the moment it is the standard Golf gearbox.
Thanks, looking forward to upgrading it. Not quite comfortable with the standard gearbox and the amount of power going through the car.

It should be pushing just under 200bhp at the moment, however I'm itching to get it on a rolling road.
I have alot bits and pieces still to do which will help me reach that amount or more, then I plan to get it on a rolling road.

It has surprised quite a handful of people

It doesn't flutter anymore like in the video, as I've upgraded my dump valve.
The fluttering is caused by a compressor stall which is not good for the turbo, so had to make the sacrifice.

200 is a nice figure for a car that weighs just over a tonne, plus you have the potential for much more if you want it
I know exactly how you feel about getting the car dyno'd, my Type R is booked in at TDi north in June so I’m hoping to be coming away with 240ish bhp

Your car looks relatively standard too which makes it a proper sleeper, bet it’s great fun 8)

Shame you couldn’t retain that fluttering sound but if it wasn’t doing the turbo any good then you’re better off without it.

The potential for much more is what I am interested in, however we are still in early stages and have a few issues to sort out before upgrading which seems the more sensible thing to do...
