Electric Window not working. Clicking

Post by rodney007 »

My passenger window stoped working suddenly, it was making a click sound when trying to use the switch on both sides.
4 Euro part dealers said its a common problem and the motor needs replacing.

Few days later, the windows suddenly started working again perfectly. :D

Go figure......

Join the club mate, my window is currently out of use, but I fully expect it to randomly begin working again at some point!

I feel its an earthing fault. infact just before it worked. I went over a big speed bump.

So try that. I think its somewhere in engine bay. Not in door.

Its probably snapped off the runners - common fault. Have the door card off and remove the regulator.

If its broken, its easily fixed - do a search on here and you'll find the guide.

Possibly could be the motor on its way out caused by the bushes in the motor wearing. If it stops all together and its not the regulator at fault then you'll be looking at a new motor, or dismantle your motor like i did and repair the bushes.

the motor was clicking at the switch, not the mechanism that moves the window was broken (regulator)

The window had stoped working, now suddenly works fine after going over a speed bump.
